I've been here for only a short time, last November actually, and I've noticed that there has been quite a change in what people are talking about. I don't know, I might have matured, or people on the forum have been on a steady decline in age and brain matter.

Proof of this would be people who have been on the forums for a month, and have somewhere along the lines of 600 posts. That's just spam, pure and simple.

In saying this, I'm not going to be posting here very much anymore. I'll still check in to see if an age limit has been set or some such, but I'm not very hopeful.

Oh, and The Judge should be banned, not for 3 months, but for a lifetime.

But yeah, I'm leaving too. But don't worry, I think I can visit two Zelda forums. I haff friends here that I wouldn't want to leave, and there are idiots *coughjudgecough* that I would like to personally slay. But, as my friends are greater than those idiots, I believe I can tolerate them and stay here as well as go to ZI.

Alright, I spent some time to actually read EVERY post thus far made in this thread. I will also openly admit that Cap'n came to me awhile back for my support. I will not shy away that I have given it, and that Zelda Domain and it's entire team is behind ZI.

However, do not hold against me that I support such a move. I will not be leaving ZU per say, as I feel as a webmaster really leaving any sort of community when your mostly just a person who comments here and there is not worth it. I know I'll still put in my 2 cents here and there until the day ZU dies.

But, it seems that what this thread has shown is the exact reason something like this did indeed need to happen. I highly doubt the people moving on to ZI will complain about what ZU has done for them. It seems to be that it's what ZU has become thats the problem. I will admit, the few times I actually catch a thread that has any sort of complaints about the mod team, the staff on ZU, or a overall great suggestion to fix one of hte many major problems they seem to be silenced in a hurry. I haven't personally experienced this as I try to stay out of such matters, but I have heard about it over and over again over the years.

Look, to those leaving (I will be joining ZI but as I stated, I have always been a "post here once every few months guy" anyways so I will still be around) I understand why and I agree with it. I do believe that ZU as it currently is in the community cannot revert to what made it so popular to begin with. Those days are long gone for the site and for the community. They live on mostly in what Lars had accomplished.

To those staying and falling in line to flaming back at the people leaving: Your becoming no better then the ones your flaming back at. You say "good riddance" or start making a "check list" of who is leaving and it's starting to become worse then Cap'n calling certain members retards.

You need to understand, this the overall opinion of the "veterans" that are leaving. From what I can see thus far in ZI, it's exactly what why ZU USE TO BE so great. I am not trying to knock ZU down, but it's no secret it has gotten progressivly worse since Lars sold the site.

I am not trying to lean towards or support either side more then other, but it's hard for me. I have been here virtually from the begining. I am not new, but I am not considered a vet because I don't post much., In fact, most my posts came during the "Lars" era, and that was a long time ago. Since then there have been various reasons. In fact, I remember specificly I stopped posting often because one day I actually got banned becuase I was blunt and honest about a persons website and they viewed it as flaiming even though at the end was ways I offered to improve upon what I said. It was only through connections via lars ans some other staff that my account was unbanned, but it is still the reason why I started to drift away.

I've heard about the bickering in the staff forum and although I cannot necessarily confirm said bickering, it has been told to me by so many people that I have come to believe it is really as bad as they say. It's a forum, a community, and the only way for it to be strong is for the staff to be strong. I would not tollerate such bickering among my mod team and if it was this bad I would clean house and get new mods who will do the job right and stop arguing about it.

I think thats the big reason the vets are leaving. It's not just the so called "retards" or the kids, or hell, even open drama on the forums (we all know it's out there). It's the staff in general. Nothing against anyone personally, but it sounds like the problems are too deep to be fixed in site.

ZU WAS the best Zelda site on the net for a good long while. Now I can come up with a handful that are better. I am not saying ZU is beyond repair, but it just doesn't seem the effort is there to get it back to where it once was. Sure, the staff is trying, but most of what is happening is a series of bandaids.

So to both sides, that's enough bickering. There leaving, and they wanted to let everyone know there leaving and why. You don't have to like the reasonings, you don't have to like me, you don't have to enjoy any of this. But bickering back and forth is exactly why this is happening.

ZU WAS great, and now I'de say it's average at best. I'll still support both ways, but I really hope this is a wake up call for ZU or I am afraid this beloved community wont be around for too much longer.

Asia, I was around when ZU was the greatness that it was. When Sig makers were cultivated and actually made good. People like Yami, Dom, and Ratek were active. Times when conversations were fun, the Signature Chit-Chat was active, great new members were flowing in everyday. I remember these days.

But they are no longer. Now ZU is a mind-melting vat of anger and immaturity. It's no longer what it used to be and it never will be again. Telling us we shouldn't leave ZU because we grew up here or because it once was great is irrelevant to what is going on now. We've gone past the point of return and it never will be the community I once loved where ideas were cultivated and grew. Too bad, I say.

Why are people treating this like it's some kind of revolution? It's not like you have to leave ZU to join ZI, and it's not like you won't be welcome back here after leaving. I predict that half the people who are leaving now will be back within a month. Maybe it's for the best.

I've seen a couple of people worship the captain recently, I thought it was quite funny, and partially deserved. But now a lot of people are just doing it because he says its better there. its quite easy to see actually.
