Adoption - Have you, are you, were you?

Well, I want to know - have you been adopted, are you adopted, are you an adopter?

Personally, I have never been adopted before, and Im not prominent enough to be an adoptee. The idea never seemed good to me, and I basically ignored it altogether.

But, what Im wondering, are you?

Well I am adopted, the person who I am adopted by is in my sig.

I've adopted before. Probably my most well known adoptee is Reshter. Also, I was adopted by Linkisup (who is no longer active).

They're both pretty cool guys. I no longer consider Reshter my adoptee though, as it's kinda silly when they've been on a forum almost as long as you have.

And because Linkisup is no longer active, I no longer consider him my adopter. :/

Shrukan_Caelestis is kinda inactive, not that much sense he had adopted me, but I still think of him as my adopter.

I was never adopted.
I have the ability to adopt, and for an amount of time I had adopted unknown_turnip.

I was never adopted on here. I think it had to do with that fact that I spammed up the Adoption Thread in 2005, asking to be adopted. I eventually wore myself out and stopped. Then I figured I didn't need an adopter.

However, I adopted many people on here. The people I adopted were Dr. Cheese/Midge (He's inactive, but I still talk to him on MSN sometimes.), Snake2021 (I think that was his name, but he changed it...so many times to keep track of. I think he went inactive.), Sakaki-chan (She's still active.), DaemonSage420 (He went inactive.), and Nightwing (I'm not too sure what happened to him.) I may or may not have adopted some other people, but I could only recall these users.

I no longer adopt new forum members.

I was adopted by Dark Tragedy. Probably the best person I could be adopted by. I must say, while at first I was doubting the idea of getting adopted, I'm pretty grateful toward her.

And, I've adopted so many people, I haven't even bothered keeping track anymore. Other than those in my sig, the only one I remember is Young Epona. Meh. They all went inactive.

I was adopted by DivineDragoon; he gave me my first signature and avy, and introduced me to the chat.



Later, I adopted mika99cv and BloodAurora; and most recently Wiiloz.

I don't know if adoption existed when I joined. In any case, I wasn't adopted, and I haven't ever adopted anyone. I'm not really sure on what I would do as an adopter. I understand the concept, I just don't know how I would really...go about being a good adopter I guess.

I thought this thread was going to be about actual adoption.... in which case I would have stated yes. But alas, that's another story, for another thread.

No, I was never adopted.... I don't think at least.

You would be an excellent adopter, Galedeep. All that's really required is a positive attitude, the ability to communicate effectively, and your willingness to help somebody else who has questions or needs help.

Yeah, that sounds like a plug for the program, but I like the program.

Now I don't need to be adopted and don't think I'd adopt anyone any time soon.

Oh... at first I thought you were talking about real adoption. No I was not adopted because I never wanted to be. Its true I might have gotten more used to my first joined forum adopted but I just didn't find it cool then. Maybe one day I'll adopt but that means I'll have to be a bit more active.

This here was my first forum ever. But I'm so amazing that I knew what was what as soon as i registered. So I didn't have to get adopted o.o

I came before adoption was made, so I didn't get adopted.

I had adopted a few people though. DekuQueen, Safer (though V99 may disagree.), Sage of Lightning, and few others.

Oh man, I forgot my adopter's name. ._.

But yeah, I went inactive for a few months, and he dropped me. By the time I got back, I as just as good of a poster as I was before; in the beginning, I just needed a push more than anything, heh.

I've adopted a few kids, too, but let them go pretty quickly. In my mind, if they're not coming to you with questions that often, they're well off on their own, and friendship doesn't need an adoptive title.

I kinda stopped with the whole adopting thing. Seems that they're mostly smart enough to figure things out. I may a bit later, though. Just haven't felt like it.

Heh, I wasn't adopted myself, but when I was approved to adopt new members, I unwittingly adopted a troll of old who kept signing up with multiple accounts.

Needless to say, it's soured my enthusiasm somewhat.

I have never been adopted, I never needed it. To be honest, I hardly see the point.

I did, however, contemplate about adopting somebody once.

I'm surprised to see so many people never got adopted. Well, me neither. I never saw the point, really. I already knew the ropes, or most of them, anyway.

But I've adopted a few people in the past. Then I realised I was a crappy adopter and stopped it.
