So I had taken a year-long hiatus and now I'm back. What has changed? and are there any people out there who need to make a new friend?

Yeah, usually these discussion go in the Community Thread. We are glad to have you back, though! If you've been gone for a year, you'll probably notice that a lot of people have left, and there are a lot of new members, too.
