Terms you use?

(To my friends,) Frequently, you will find me saying:
-Love
-Koi (unrequieted love)
-Koishi (longing attraction)
-Kobito ('my heart')

I will not refer to anyone here by these terms, because
A) No crush.
B) Nobody I know well enough to wish to do so.

-Sincerly yours, Raistlin (on welcome newbie pages)
-More Later (when I post threads without a complete array of info that I may or may not have at that time)
-Bozo (My friend, Brad only)

More later.

Re: Terms you use?

I'm guessing, post terms you use, perhaps with your friends, special items in your lexicon that others normally wouldn't understand. E.g. I use the word "Dummkopf" to refer to someone (always a friend) whom has done some thing really stupid recently... Bad example, because (as my vocabulary may have already clued you in on) if I simple use easy and relatively common terms to myself, others still may not understand me, thus eliminating my need for such terms. Oh well, perhaps someone else will elaborate better.

I'd like it if someone commented, even if it's old: http://www.zeldauniverse.net/forums/...ing-flood.html
I changed my name; Deku Prince sounds weird without the knowledge that it's a character in a fanfic I tried...

Re: Terms you use?

Is there anything that you say only to your friends?
Or a word that is specific to you? Or just something you say a lot?

Example:
Instead of "Hi Brad" I say "Hey Bozo". And he knows that it's me, because nobody else says that.
Example two:
On recess (family channel), my little brother has efficiently stolen what 'T.J' says. The word he uses is "This Whomps" which is pretty much saying 'this sucks' or some other more derogatory term for it.

Re: Terms you use?

We have a special word (a made-up word that I won't divulge here) that we use to mean hello, goodbye, and I love you. It's rather stupid and sounds ridiculous but we use it all the time.

:XD

It is neat, I guess when you think about it, to have something that only you and one or two other people understand.

Instead of saying "You look good" or "nice", I say "You look Shmancy."

It doesn't have to be made up though. Just something you say often that is unique to you. Koi, Koishi, Kobito, are all actual Japanese words. Bozo, is english somewhat, and a disrespectful term for a Japanese monk.

Re: Terms you use?

"Foo-foo to you"- I use that often here.
"I find that kind of rude"- Both here and IRL.
"Congratulations!"- IRL when I could care less about something someone said.

That is about it...

Re: Terms you use?

Instead of "That's the way it has to be," I like saying "That's the way the cookie crumbles."

I love idioms. ^^

Obviously the cookies. *stares at title*

Idioms can count too, because you might always use one instead of "straight" speech.

Re: Terms you use?

'Liar and a thief'
- my latest linguistic love. Even though most of my 'liar and a thief' victims rarely thief, and seldom lie, it's nice to say that to them. Sometimes I add 'charlatan' at the end for flavour and variety. So it goes 'You're a liar and a thief and a CHARlatan!!!' starting off calm and gradually the pitch increases and by the end of 'charlatan' I think only the dogs can hear what I'm saying.

I don't know if 'dude' constitutes a term as its actually more of a word, but I say 'dude' a lot and I wish I didn't becuase it REALLY doesn't suit me. That is not a word I can pull off.

Oh and arabs have a word 'ya'ani' (anime_queen? FoxMcCloud? Help?). I couldn't tell you its meaning because I would only confuse you (though for the record, there is a similar word in Urdu- 'yane' which is an infill word for when you're groping for a particular word, it means 'sort of' and 'you know'. That kinda thing). But I say that willy nilly especially when I know its out of context and doesn't make sense.

Yeah, I never noticed that I loved saying it while being the Cookie Queen at the same time. I guess I really am Queen of cookies. XD

Re: Terms you use?

- "It happens." it means I either don't give a crap or I just can't be arsed to type something else.
- "Deep Sea Clams" - a term I use to describe a silly/pointless job somebody makes me do.

This is all I can think of. Me and my friends have a lot of inside jokes, but they don't really count.
