What do you think your online friends look like?

Do you think it's possible to get a general notion of what a person looks like, without ever seeing them? I know many of you have online friends, or maybe just people that you've seen post a lot around your prefered forums. What do you think your friends look like? What do you think I look like?

I don't know if it's possible. I just mainly want to know what people out there think I look like, who already know my personality. Maybe there are other people out there who are also curious.

Hmm.. Well, I had a mental image of Pandaemonium before I saw a photo of him, and they were completely different. Someone else I have a mental image of is Mr. Fish. I never want to see a photo of him. Ever. What he looks like is a mystery to me, and I prefer it that way. I have my mental image of him, and I prefer it that way.

Besides, he's probably really ugly. Right, Fishy?

One thing I do often, is if people have a certain person in their sig and avvy, even if I know it's not them, I relate it to them in my mind. I develop this idea that they look something like that, and end up surprised when they don't.

DaBomb has what I do locked on. Like right now, I associate the first signature I see a person using with them, kinda like DaBomb. I'll always think of him as the rabbits from rayman.

I have an OK online photo that only Cio has seen, but I think I'll hide it for now. I would be interested in knowing what your "mental image" is like... My mental image of you is someone in ninja garb, so I can't see your face.

But yeah, people always turn out looking entirely different than what you expected.

As for Nayrulians who haven't shown their faces (and some that have), well they all look like young knights to me.

Agreed, I always find it strange when a regular poster changes his/her avatar, say like....lexlionhart! Now I can't help but picture a teddy sitting at a screen lol!

I sometimes make wild assumptions on people's appearances. Sometimes I base my mental image of someone on their avatar (like Jehanne), but most of the time I base it off of how that person acts or their personality.

Also, for some reason, whenever I encounter a girl online, my initial thought of them is an uber attractive brunette. :glare Dunno why.

I guess it's the whole point of avatars to asocciate people with those images. I almost never change my screenname or avatar, so if you see my username and that exact avatar, then it's safe to say I'm the same person.

They probably look like 40-year old virgins, most of my online friends.

Unlike a lot of people, I've seen pics and even talked over the phone with my online friends. That way, I know I will not get raped.

I don't know any people online that i really consider friends, but as for people here on zu, I have no idea what you guys look like. Anyone think they know what i look like?

I think I have a problem with doing that. My idea of what Mr. Fishy looks like is a penguin with glasses. Even if I do see a real picture of him I will still be under the impression that he is a penguin with glasses, to me that's just who he is.

Most people I like (whether I consider them a friend or not) have pictures somewhere. So, I know what they look like, if they aren't posing as pedophiles.

My image for most people is usually a white person with a tan without glasses and doesn't look like they play video games but you know they do somehow. Anyone without pictures, I just remember them by their avatar. (Needless to say, I don't wear a hood and robe and go around killing people on dr
