Choices

Every one makes them all the time but is there a method you take or whats the toughest choice you've ever had to make..ever had a choice that has hurt someone? *Snips the red rope and declares thread officially open*

Well, if I have to make a very important decision, I mostly make a small PRO-CON list... Really stupid, but it gets the job done.

When I make a choice I usually just wing it. Whatever comes to mind first. I never really take the time to think Good-Bad or Pro-Cons to my choices.

My hardest choice recently was to decide whether or not save Peppy's daughter Lucy or go and help Slippy's fiancee Amanda on Aquas. Then I realized I could just do the game again and save both of them lol.

I suppose my method is to close my eyes and think of random things. Whichever option closely relates to those things is what I choose. Yes it sounds awfully weird but it works.

I think the hardest choices are the ones you have to make because you didn't think well enough on previous choices.

Sometimes, a single point might mean a lot to you rather than a combination of reasons on the other side. If you know what I mean >__>
It cannot be simply *masured* at times.

I have had to make a lot of decisions and choices and I find it *difficult* >__<
It's this aspect of *gambling*. Of choosing a path that you're unsure is going to be better than another.

Ok.
I do something in Islam we call "Istikhara", which is basically a prayer asking for guidance. When I am faced with a choice (especially an important one) and I really am unsure which path is best, I pray then say the following supplication:

"Oh Allah! I seek Your guidance by virtue of Your knowledge, and I seek ability by virtue of Your power, and I ask You of Your great bounty. You have power; I have none. And You know; I know not. You are the Knower of hidden things.

Oh Allah! If in Your knowledge, (this matter*) is good for my faith, my livelihood and my affairs, immediate and in the future, then ordain it for me, make it easy for me, and bless it for me. And if in Your knowledge, (this matter*) is bad for my faith, my livelihood and my affairs, immediate and in the future, then turn it away from me, and turn me away from it. And ordain for me the good wherever it may be, and make me content with it."

And it has never failed me.
After that, a choice becomes clear to me, and always turns out to have been the right choice. *shrugs*

You might be laughing at me as we speak (:p ) but the great thing I feel about it is this .. *contentedness* I feel. Even if I face difficulties afterwards, I don't fret or ask "what if's" or have regrets. So.. it works out just fine.

Not to say that I don't ask a million people for their opinions and advice regarding all important matter to me. Why.. I am deeply indebted to Aerixeth who helped me out through one of the toughest choices I've had to make yet (the "which publisher?" agony xD )

Oh, and I think that choosing a partner for marriage and commitment is the most difficult decision by far *covers her face with her hands and whimpers*

I think faith has a lot to do with it whether it be to do with your god or gods or just having faith in your decision. My most important and difficult decision had to be......ILL TELL you later when theres more posts

It really depends on the choice.

Most of the time I just pick one and go with the consequences. Sort of the effect of the "eenie-meenie-minie-mo" method.

I get what you mean.

I make the PRO-CON list because I sometimes lose track. I put down the PRO's and CON's and compare them and from that, make my choices.

But then again, the PRO-CON list is all choices, because you have to pick what's good for you, while somebody else might think otherwise...

AHHH i like always make a choice and then want the one that i didnt pick :S WHAT AM I FIVE !!!

Choices concerning only myself come easily... although I'm at such an age where most of the 'important' choices haven't come my way yet. I can easily see the best way, because I know myself well.

Choices concerning other people aren't always as easy, and some thought has to be applied. It is sometimes impossible to please everybody, and I think that calm, hypothetical debate helps a group reach a decision which is decent by general consensus... although rarely ideal.

I do what my gut says to do.

I do what has less con's

its a good way to live

I'm not good with choices. I choose the one that sounds more beneficial.
