Re: Help me...please!

If it doesn't work the first time hold it there for a few hours. It'll work eventually.

It takes longer on older computers. And older cameras.

You tried it, too, SVaati? :0) You can't believe how elated I was when I first learned about this feature.

Re: Help me...please!

I'm sorry but this has gone beyond the point of stupidity.

I seriously doubt that a six year old would do all that however given that he might.

Its your own damned fault for putting up with the toerag. The first time he did it you should of grabbed him taken him to his parents and told them that if he does it again its within your rights to defend what is your property and you will then call social services and tell them what is going on.

They would come and take the child away.
But then again I frankly don't believe you.

Ok.. let's all assume that the events proclaimed in the thread are 100% true.. and I am assuming that the reply you gave above to such a scenario is one said in all seriousness.

If so then.. *gapes some more at the advice*

Are you SERIOUS about having the child "taken away" by social services for tHAT? REALLY?

I want to know why it is becoming so easy and facilitated to wrench kids away from their families like this O____o

Some kids are cheeky, some are too curious and will wreck many MANY things in their curiosity.. but none of that warrants for them to be seperated from their families forcefully.

*frustration*

Can't get it to work. -_-; Sorry, Im not a computer geek, All I know is the internet. Im not calling any of YOU geeks, I just don't know how to do it. Sorry!

Awww...the little guy gave me his WW game! But I didn't take it. I told him never to get me angry again, the guy just said

"Im sorry. I broke your game. I really am. Will you forgive me?"

It was so sweet of him to do that. I just had to say yes.

Re: Help me...please!

Oh wait... No, sorry, I was mistaken about that Osmosis Feature. It never existed.

Would be cool, though :0) ..that is..if a magnetic field utilized in that manner wouldn't wipe (and probably fry) your computer's internals pretty quickly (not to mention what it would do to a normal digital camera).

Hope things work out for you :0)

Kids have been taken away for less, its more a proper parenting thing. You see the thing is most kids are cheeky, but their parents don't know this. And supposedly she told the parents so it goes to reason that they know. The child destroyed her property and its the parents job to reimburse her.

Most importantly this is all a load of bollocks so I don't see why we are having this discussion

Re: Help me...please!

No, we're having this discussion to see about what you think is alright to be done *as a matter of principle*

.. and I'd love some input from some of the thread readers on this - would you really agree for a cheeky kid who breaks another kids' game to be taken away from their family by social services?

I'm sorry but that's preposterous O___o

Doesn't make it right in any way, shape or form. no one is aguing about the parents reimbusing the game or not (theoretically), but the question here is : does the crime (breaking the game/swearing) warrant for the kid to be broken away from their family? heh.. it's as though the parents have NO say or any claim towards their kids. Those kids are not government property o___o

If I ever have a kid who was then cheeky or naughty while I wasn't around, I'd flykick anyone who tries to take them away from me for that. What the ..

Of course the parents wouldn't like it, thats kinda the point. I am not saying its right I am just saying that kids have been put into foster care for alot less.

Re: Help me...please!

Paxen didn't really really mean it. He just realized it was a silly thread and made a flippant remark about social services.

(oh yes, and see my above post, Asia!!) :0D

Re: Help me...please!

Not just "The parents won't like it" but the parents shouldn't *stand* for it.
They have a *right* to care for their kids and bring them up and not have them thrown about from one home to another.

Since when has the government and social services had more claim on the kids than their parents?! xD

There are many brilliant parents who have cheeky/difficult kids. Why should they be *punished* for their kids' petty crimes? (and I use that term loosely. A kid breaking anotehr kids' game/toy is nothing catastrophic. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say it's normal). In what way will social services be better than the parents?

Nono Dave. Paxen does (which is the new topic!!! >__> )

Re: Help me...please!

I'm with Anime Queen on this. Instead of taking the kid away, they should make the parents take responsibility for their kid. Make them take more control over the child.

No running into other people's houses and messing with stuff without their permission.

Re: Help me...please!

The fact is they will come and tell the parents, whatever. Then when the kids goes and does it again hes nabbed. No more annoying kid.

But this never happened in the first place, so it doesn't matter.

I then went into my room, pulled out a towel from the hammer, wet it in the bathroom, made it a rattail, and smacked him with it!

Re: Help me...please!

All I can say is that violence is never the answer. What you did, WW, was definately unecessary. I know it pissed you off that he broke your favorite game. Hell, I'd be pissed. But that doesn't mean you should do it back. By doing that, you dropped just as low as him.
