Not really, no.
I'm friends with some people who talk with the "populars" sometimes, and I have talked with a few, but I myself am not popular. I don't want to be either, I'd rather be around people who share my interests and who I like.
I used to be popular. But when I found some new friends I realized that I dont care about popularity and neither do my friends. So now im a total outcast XD The newest way to make fun of me at school is that since im not going anywhere for spring break, my social life is automaticly over >_>
At ZU, no.
In real life, once you get out of high school, popularity doesn't really mean anything. I was sort of popular in high school. Using a similie to describe it, if the really popular kids were the artists who got played on MTV, I was the guy who was signed to an independent label who didn't get a lot of airplay but was well respected and still moved a lot of records.
I guess... This thread is kinda hypocritical like someone else said. But I do think I could be considered as popular. I was on the school sports team, I participated in national events and so on but it wasnt always that way, being picked on isnt foreign to me. Anyways I dont put much importance on this, as long as I have good friends (which I have) its all I care for.
In school, I'm one of the most popular people around. Lets see... popularity sucks! The only reason most people like me is cause I am a master at insulting people (I take any shot I can get) and I'm smart and help people with homework.
The people I hang out with are the cool people (band geeks, hardcore gamers, drama people, ect), and yet I'm popular. Hmmm one day I'll get all the answers wrong and see what happens...
Well you can decide whether I'm popular on ZU because I can't really tell. I think I've made lots of people angry with my opinions but also made some "friends" if you can call them that.
In real life I AM sort of popular. I'm not like "the guy" but basically everyone knows me because I'm one of those jock types. I used to not be as popular and liked it that way better because the friends are real and now they are all backstabbers and I hate basically each one and have very few TRUE friends left.
Note: If you aren't as popular as you want to be don't sacrifice friends or who you really are or anything else because it isn't worth it.
If by friends you mean teachers that you get along with and have intellectual conversations with, then yes, I do have friends...
Outside of my AP classes I am seen as a odd, quiet, and somewhat rude individual (the rudeness is unintended, I just dislike meaningless chatter). Within my AP classes not much changes, although I am not as quiet.
I have not been to ZU for long, but I have found a few individuals that have similar interests. Perhaps as time goes by, I could make more / improve the ones I do have.
I will say this : I am glad I made the transition from GameFaqs to ZU, but GF will still be my main site for questions about videogames other than Zelda.

^Say, what's your username on GameFAQs? I'm registered both here and as GameFAQS. (My GameFAQs account is carr_mig.)
On topic- in the real world, I go to a pretty good school. Popularity isn't defined, since there aren't any outright bullies or anything like that. Of course, there are people who are complete geeks, and some people that you can tell might be considered the "popular" group. I'm in a great group of friends, and it's hard for me to figure out how "popular" I am, but I'll say this- I'm perfectly fine with my social life.
And at ZU? Heh, I'm a total newbie. Although I do have a OOT parody thread going on (see my sig) and people there seem to like that, but I'm not sure if that qualifies me for friendship
basically I consider myself to be generally well liked, but I'm not entirely the most popular person at school.
Then again I've been forced to change schools the last two years so that might have had a moderate impact... At work, I'm generally well liked and get along fairly well.

Our governments came up with a way to cause human extinction(nuclear missiles) well before they solved poverty.
At ZU? I don't know, the members would know.
At school? No. Popularity is pointless and a waste of my time. A set of friends is all I need to survive ^^ I'm friends with a couple popular people, does that make me popular? No, and I'm glad. I'm friends with several unpopular people does that make me unpopular? Yes, and I don't care XD

I'm not popular. And I don't really care. I prefer to be alone. Away from people.
And besides, I'm too weird. I have some really nice nicknames, though.:

Popularity... souds like a system used to rate people on social status. Strangely, at my school, the ones who put others down are the ones who are the most popular. Its an exclusive club - I call it the morons club.
Im not popular.
Popular and proud. But im populare because im me and i dont conform if one of my friends annoy me i tell them...i dont really care if im popular actually because you dont have that close circle of friends that i long to have....makes you want to go into a cave an not come back up :[
