I have nothing against fat people either, and I too I think that there's definitely an intolerance of people whom happen to be overweight. Laziness, lack of self control and greed are far too commonly associated with people who have some 'extra baggage', and too often, more complex issues, such as depression and psychological problems (that might actually account for some percentage of the cause) are often overlooked. It's a massive sweeping generalization like the former that stamps most fat people with such negative labels, and thus, they are all tarred with the same brush.
Compared to conditions such as bulimia and anorexia, these two are not socially ridiculed in the same way as people being overweight are, and underweight people are more likely to be understood in that psychological issues and more is the cause of their suffering. Fat people are somewhat less likely to be met with such understanding, and that's quite a sad situation.
