Far many more don't. The administration can't have hordes of angry parents at their doorstep complaining because some kids who do have common sense are allowed to have MP3 players and irresponsible kids aren't. It's easier (and there is little to no harm) in banning MP3 players.

The no chewing gum rule should have applied to all public and private schools. Seriously, people. If you can't chew and spit your gum into the garbage can without sticking to the underside of the tables and chairs, and sometimes even on the armrests, then you don't deserve to have this privilege at all. It's disgusting, really.

The laptop history I can understand, for administrations can monitor what students are doing on the laptops due to security and safety/legal reasons. You can do whatever you want at home, but it is a school laptop, after all.

Yeah, its really gross when you sit in it or step on it. But I always throw my gum away. Mostly I just swallow it so I don't have to get up. But later I realized that it was having some bad effects on my stomach so I stopped.

I don't think we've even had that many issues of gum under desktops or that sort of thing, though.

We got tons here. It's really disgusting. Many students here just lack common sense and general hygiene.

The only rule I have a problem with is no jeans. They say it's not "professional." What the heck? All of us aren't going to become business executives....

The only rule I have a bit of a problem with is the way our school likes to call hallsweeps, which is basically getting all the klids out of the hall between classes or it's in-house detention. Other than that, I don't really have a problem with the rules, but there are some I break, I'll admit.

1. No MP3 players
2. No CD players
3. No Cell Phones
4. No wearing PJ's (although people still do)
5. No Spaghetti Stap tops
6. No muscle shirts
7. No Drug/Violence/Alchohol related material aloud on clothing
8. Eating is only permitted in the cafeteria
9. People aren't aloud on the second floor during lunch

Umm, I think thats it, if I think of any more, I'll letcha guys know.

EDIT:
10. If you are caught with a cell phone, CD player or MP3 player, it is tooken away and you can't get it back until the end of the day.

Wow o_o

We don't have too strict rules here. We can pretty much wear whatever we like, we can leave the classroom whenever we like. We can hold hands and kiss, and stuff like that. We are not supposed to eat in the classrooms, but most of the teachers are quite laid back on the rules anyway.
I always listen to my iPod during tests, and all students bring their cell phones to school

Of course we are not allowed to bring drugs to the school, but very few people do, and it's not really a big problem here in Norway.
