Re: World Trade Center Memories
I have been to the WTC ground after it happened. It was crazy to think so many people died where I was standing. I cannot explain in words what it was like.

Seeing this again makes me say-
God bless the troops defending our freedoms at this very moment. And God bless America.

Re: World Trade Center Memories
I can still remember the day like yesterday. It was horrorable just sitting there watching the News, and the video clips played over and over. All the lives that were being lost, all the firefighter's just doing there job, and dying for it. All the office workers just jumping out, saying it would be frightening does not match up to the horror you would of felt. I think everyone can remember what they were doing on Sep 11th 2001.
I like the plans they've created, and the memorial of where the twin towers stood. Quote:
God Bless America.

Re: World Trade Center Memories
I was sitting in 7th Grade...listening to Mr. Ruppe. They came over the intercom, in a sadden voice, telling us of the events that had begin to unfold. Being in 7th grade, barely old enough to know what the hell the World Trade centers were, we didn't know exactly the level of attention the situation called for. We sat and joked, 'The Stock Market crashed!" , we knew nothing of the seriousness of the matter, all we knew was that something was hapening, just another day in our feeble minds. It didn't occur to me, until sometime after the incident, the true seriousness, and level of comprehension needed to understnad came to me. People, 100's of people had died, and now, this place we felt safe in, schools, churches, buildings, even our homes, seemed to be being watched by the ominous Terrorists.
I don't understnad why everyone is putting "God bless our Troops" and such. The troops that are over there now...are hardly in anyway connected with the WTC attacks...they're there because of the supposed 'hidden nuclear technology'. -NC

Re: World Trade Center Memories
Oh man, the WTC....
I remember my Fifth grade teacher walked to the classroom door to talk with the visitor. When she was done talking, she walked back, stood there for awhile, and then announce it to the class. At first, I somewhat didn't care because I had no clue what they were. But that all changed when I saw the news. All I have to say is this. God bless America, our troops, and our allies.

Take a close look at this picture, if you look in the top left corner you can see what looks like a face with creepy glowing eyes....

Re: World Trade Center Memories
The only thing I can remember is being told about the terrorist attacks by my English teacher (who was also my homeroom teacher) 4 hours after the attacks happened. When I got home after that, I saw that the road outside of my house was crowded with cars that were apprantly evacuating, becasue some even tried cutting across the gas station just across the street from me. It was pretty shocking for me when I was watching the news and saw the towers collapsing, becasue even if I was many miles away from where the terrorists attacks happened, it suprised me how much went on without me even knowing about it.

Re: World Trade Center Memories
I remember when that happened. I forgot where I was at the time, though. All I remember is watching the news with my mom and asking something on the lines of "What's that building?" And then my mother shooed me out of the room so I wouldn't see all of the death and destruction.
Man, I was such an ignorant child back then. Now I regret being so stupid, saying things like "Who cares?" And going back to my toys. Now that I'm older I see what a tragedy this is. I feel bad for the families that lost their husbands and fathers more than the troops themselves. They died for a cause, but the families had to suffer. I'm just glad that it wasn't worse, as bad as it was. |

Re: World Trade Center Memories
A student in my high school said and I quoted: "I was just waking up early in the morning getting ready for classes, when my parents told me to come downstairs and watch CNN. At first, when I saw WTC towers collapsing, I laughed, thinking that it was another action/horror movie that had a great computer-generated graphic/effect. Until my parents started yelling whether if I was crazy or not, I realized that it was real. Reality had never seemed so scary."
Indeed, I think many people wouldn't believe it at first when it happened. I mean, who WOULD expect this kind of tragedy ever happening in their lives? Here's something freaky. Kagome, you were saying about the face in the dense, heavy smoke on top of WTC? Here: ![]() An image of Satan. This picture was not modified in any way. And this site shows you some of the mysteries of WTC during its attack, including but not limited to: the cross that stood up which was just part of the tower(s) ruins. People believed it was a sign and they started to pray to it. http://www.september11news.com/Mysteries1.htm

Re: World Trade Center Memories
I can remember the day. I was getting ready to go to school and was listening to the radio. As they were going through the front page on the radio they announced it. I was a stupid kid back then and thought, "Maybe it was an accident." and went off to school. When I got there everyone in my class was talking about it and going to war and such. None of the teachers would go into their classes to teach. They all stood out in the hall talking in a group. Then, they brought us all into one class, turned on the telivision, and we all sat and watched the horrors. It was terrible. We saw the fires and people jumping off the towers. When they fell all the girls screamed and we all began to talk. It was very frightening.
God bless America, and the troops.

Re: World Trade Center Memories
I didn't care then... and I don't care now. It's amazing how times change.
LOL WTC LOOSE CHANGE But srsly. I feel bad for those who had to lose family and friends. But this "event" has helped the US as a whole, and I suppose I'm thankful for that. |

Re: World Trade Center Memories
Oh, FFS. It's smoke, damnit. You've never looked at the clouds and thought, "Hey, there's a boat! There's a fish! Oh, wow! There's Abe Lincoln punching a communist in the face!", or something to that extent? Of course you have. People see different images in inkblots, different images in clouds, different images in smoke - a constantly shifting mass, I might add. It's a matter of perception. Why is this so widely believed? Because it was propagated by the damned media! I sincerely hope nobody on this forum actually buys into that crock.
To comment on the anniversary and the day itself; the needless deaths of innocents is indeed tragic and it is most regretful that someone saw it fit for a few thousand people to die on that day 5 years ago. Sadly, I'm a "heartless bastard" and have moved on. War and violence are an inevitability. I've concluded mankind, for whatever ****ed up reason, needs conflict to strive (What brought America out of the depression? That's right, WWII.). They levelled structures and killed civilians, so we returned fire and shed some innocent blood as well. What better remedy than revenge? An eye for an eye. Just another sad chapter in the book of man. With that, I take my leave. Don't think me some heathen liberal America-hater, though. Nothing more than a laid-back guy who hates senseless violence in all its forms, war included. No war is just, folks. Matter of fact, not opinion. Cheers, loves. <3

Re: World Trade Center Memories
Ah. One of these things that clog up our television endlessly until I can't bear to bother trying to find news. It's worse than Princess Diana. Sorry if people are touchy about the subject, but I think there really is a care level corresponding to how close you are. There's the people who lost family, then there's your average American citizen shivering in their homes and thinking about terror attacks, then there's the average rest-of-the-world, who says "that's nice", is sad for a couple days, then moves on.
It's not that I'm heartless, when people die I'm sad about it and mourn, when we heard about 9/11 in school we had a minute of silence in assembly, Steve Irwin's death hit me as if I knew him even though I'd never met him, but really, the media is beginning to just annoy me with this. It's like when the Tsunami's struck South-East Asia. 140,000+ deaths and millions left homeless, and America's like "lol world news, at least it's not us". Then Hurricane Katrina hits and kills, what, 1000 people and it's the saddest news since Jesus died. Condolences to people affected, but I really had to have my rant about overhyping by the media.
