Cars
Just got a brand new car guys! w00t! Bought a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon GT (automatic, silver paint), and it kicks ass. What kind of cars do you guys have, and what do you think about Tiburons?

Re: Cars
I would love to have my own car, but it costs too much initially and to maintain. I might buy one of my parents cars sometime in the future, but not anytime soon.

Re: Cars
I have a 93 Ford Ranger. Its nice once I learned to drive stick shift. I've also installed neon lights on it. My mom saids it floats on a purple cloud. I close Purple because the truck is purple and blue is illegal.
The truck needs a good washing though, and I had to replace the batteries and the wires going to the batteries before It would start.

Re: Cars
I have nothing against Subaru, and the Tiburon GT is quite the nice car. I'm not sure quite why, but I'm really a Ford kinda guy. I tend to dislike foregin cars.
Ironically enough, I drive a 1996 Toyota Camry in pearl white (with grey bottom panels, mimicking the Lexus design). Leather interior, power everything, and best of all, woodgrain paneling. It's a nice car. But it needs a good wash, and I refuse to go through the automatic. People, If you really love your cars, wash them by hand. Show them you care. Too bad for me that a 1990 Jaguar XJS just went up for sale in my area. I recently stopped and checked it out. Here's the specs as the owner posted them: 5.3L V12, complete with a supercharger (which kicks engine output up to 650 hp! That's more than the 2006 Ford GT!), gold plating, special edition, all the bells and whistles. All this, and 88,000 miles on it. Are you guys drooling, yet? And it's selling for $7,500. Exactly what I paid for the Camry. Oh, the pathos. Of course, there is probably a catch. There's always a catch when it comes to buying cars used. Especially if said car has a supercharger under the hood. A few hard drags, and that engine is toast. Nonetheless, I would love to own a Jaguar. In fact, I might start looking for one. Just because. |

Re: Cars
I have a white '92 Toyota Camry sedan, 5 speed manual, power steering, central locking, air con...just the essentials I guess. It goes well, I just put on a new set of tires because the originals were bald, the front bushes are damaged though so I will have to get them repaired soon, which is going to cost me about $400. Its expensive to own a car now, especially when you are a student and with oil prices being high and all but unfortunately I really don't have much of a choice because where I live there is hardly any public transport...I live in the middle of no where.

Re: Cars
I'm sitting on a '88 Jeep Wagoneer. It came with the awesome pricetag of free as my birthday gift from my grandparents. It gets me from A to B for now, and it WAS free, so I really can't complain. Once I get the funds to do so, though, I'ma upgrade a bit. Just to something with a more powerful AC and better gas mileage. I've never held that stereotypical fascination guys have with cars, so I really don't care what it is. If it moves, keeps me cold in these b*tch Arizona summers and doesn't consume gas like an raving alcoholic on a permanent binge, I'll be happy.

Re: Cars
My family has three cars. One Buick Skylark, one big old SUV (We don't use it that much, though. Gas prices are murder with that thing.), and an old pickup truck.
I'd like to eventually get a car myself. I'd like to get a limosine and have a paid driver drive me everywhere. That will probably never happen, though. |

On a related note, if the rumors are true, I believe Ford will be selling off Jaguar to another owner soon, in hopes they can pull themselves out of the hole. Let's pray to God it isn't BMW. They'll start sucking like they did back in the 70's and 80's. As far as screwing up Hyundai and Subaru goes, shows just how much I care about them. So there. |

Re: Cars
I have a 86' Toyota 4 cylinder pickup. I got for 1000 dollars. It has great mileage and I bought it. Not my grandparents, not my parents, just me. I am dang proud of it too.
But it wasn't really worth the grand I forked over, but hey, it runs. |

Re: Cars
My family owns a Mazda 5, the year being '05 I think.
It's funny. We're always being asked about our car. It's completely Japenese, and I've only seen one other like it. It does look odd, though. It's like every type of minivan mixed together with curves. I like the look. If I were to choose a car, I'd want a slugbug. I like their funny look. But my mother is convinced that I will get married and have children, so she wants me to get something a bit bigger. Oh well, all I have is my pink slip... |
