Thumbs down A Killer Comes to town!

President Bush is to make a state visit to Britain on the 20th of November according to anti-war protesters who promise the US leader a hot reception.

The Stop The War Coalition says it will organise huge protests against Mr Bush's presence on British soil.

Spokesman John Rees said: "The Blair government is adding insult to injury by extending this invitation to George Bush.

"The majority of people in this country believe there was no justification for this war with, Iraq but now their taxes will pay for the war-monger-in-chief to be treated like some sort of British war hero.

So much for Brits being Brothers. Cain and Abel, maybe. Of course, the question is...who is Cain and who is Abel? ;0)

Re: A Killer Comes to town!

Well, I think world leaders have a right to go visit each other. As far as anti-war protesters, what are they protesting now? The war's over. Saddam is gone, and Iraq is getting plugged in again. If you want the violence to end, someone needs to tell the fanatical nutballs who blow up hospitals that it's over.

Re: A Killer Comes to town!

Civilization, (should I captalize that?), what do you see as worse...

A country where the government has full power, and goes around killing and raping people with absolutely no reason, or a few people dying to stop that countries government from being so corrupt? So is Bush a killer? No, he is a hero.

Maybe you don't care if innocent people are getting murdered and gang raped to death, but I do.

First off, I don't believe that a majority of people believe the war was unjustified. If they do, it is their ignorance of the situation only that leads them to that assumption. At the beggining of this war, there was a census that showed that over 60% of the population thought Suddam Hussien was responsible for the "9/11" attacks. Shows how valid the publics opinion is, aye?

"American’s imperialism has gone to far, we must send a clear message to bush and the American people that invading Iraq without U.N approval or even evidence of saddam weapons of mass destruction .The president will meet hostile and furious protesters. He will not be meant with open arms, because The British public does not agree with Tony Blair’s government. They are still 70% against the war.” Said one official of the: stop the war coalition.

Re: A Killer Comes to town!

Civ, you are treating this whole thing like the Americans are all wrong and the british public against the war is the voice of reason.

A majority(or close to 50%, it fluxiuated alot) of the American public was against the war as well.....the british government is just as guilty for attacking iraq as the american government is, even if Bush pushed it more then Blair.

And Im glad Bush is going over there. It can do no more harm then if he simply ignored the UK all togeather, unless of course he is assassinated or something. That'd cause a big uproar.

If the president is “assassinated” it will cause uproar on whose side?

Re: A Killer Comes to town!

It will cause uproar every, as it will completely muddle(further) the current state of the world. Some may find it bad, and others good. But frankly no good could come out of assassinating the most powerful man in the world.

But it certianly couldn't come at a worse time. If he is assassinated in england, you know who will be blamed, and then what will subsequently occur? Yep.

Edit: I changed it a bit because I reread at it was somewhat confusing.

Do you not seriously know? I think ya do, but I'm slow so yeah...

CIVILAZATION, I think this is flaming and is against the rules. Even if President Bush isn't a ZU member, it is still putting someone down. I think this should be locked, and hope it is.

Re: A Killer Comes to town!

Scotland Yard would not be blamed for the lack of security, since bush is going to have a whopping 250 American special police. Besides you guys wanted 1/4 of London closed to the public. Do you know how much commercial damage that would do? o_O

Re: A Killer Comes to town!

Civ, you must really be thick skulled. Actually, maybe thin, since it seems logical thought escapes you easily. Although Bush used weapons of mass destruction as his reason for invading Iraq, it's obvious to anyone with an IQ higher then eighty-seven that this was not his full motivation. The real deal was to de-thrown Hussein, as Hussein was, in my opinion, the most, and possibly only, evil man to ever live. Although what Hitler did may be considered worse to the majority, what Hitler did, he did because he felt it was the right thing. Who can say it's not? Only Ijahovah. Under Hussein's rule, men and women could be murdered for no reason, and women could be raped for Suddam's own pleasure. Bush's decision to trade a few American lifes for thosands of Iraqi lifes was one hundred percent justifiable.

Civ, your opinion could be valid, if you would ever support it. I've read many of your illogically opinionated posts, and you never give reasons for your beliefs. It's pathetic, and makes you look more ignorant then an average person.

'one official of the stop the war coalition' Is that supposed to mean anything to anyone? The whole forum already knows what your opinion is on the war, and just because you can quote an anomymous source of soem random organization doesn't really mean anything. Especially because this person apparently has no political sway, considering its not worth mentioning their name.

And 1/4 of London need not be closed, there is a little thing called a motorcade, they do that all over the US all the time, never cause an economic loss, maybe a little rubberneckign at most. =/

Re: A Killer Comes to town!

Sorry to say this..... but the US isnt exactly appealing for people who live outside of it.
why? you are too nosey, you dont let people figth their own figths...... you want to play heroes all along.
But this is a point of view of someone who lives outside the US.

ever since civ is here ive being trying to be away from this kind of topics, however this is how i feel and this will be my last post in this kind of topics.
I dont wanna end up in an argumetn with someone whos rigth in their point of view. we all dont see the world the same way, and my point of view will probably will get alot of people heated.... please dont, i respect your possition and im just telling mine and thus i expect you to respect mine.
heh tht was my rant for the day, sorry if offended someone, just had to post my mind on somethign i have being holding out for quite sometime now.

EDIT:
Forgot to add this, dont get me wrong, i love the persons from the USA, only i dont agree on how the country is led.
my best friends are americans ^_^

Re: A Killer Comes to town!

You don’t have to keep repeating your sympathetic ness for the United States. If you are against the American government then just post your response crystal clear. Don’t be afraid of what other people may think. A life of fear, merchant, is not wroth living.

Re: A Killer Comes to town!

We all have to live according to what we know is right in spite of our governments or the countries they oversee. I am who I am who I am. Although our situations may change, we still have to live correctly. Those who seek out the Truth will find it...no matter where they are from. Unfortunately, few search...or not long enough...or not in the proper place.

Re: A Killer Comes to town!

this thread is getting sort of violent... everyone take a deep breath...
::my 2 cents::
As an immigrant, I hate bush as much as the next one, but i don't think so many people should exaggerate his wrongdoings. I personally believe that his father was a worse president, its just that we are in modern times and much more attention is paid to the wrongdoings of world leaders, and their right actions aren't paid attention to. I don't criticize Bush, because i don't believe I have the right to, because I know that if I was the president, I would do a worse job.
