Would you be an Organ donor?

Would you be an organ donor? I ticked yes on my driver's liscence. I am an organ donor because I believe I will not need something like my liver after I'm gone. And by donating my organs I give another person a chance for a slightly better life. If you don't want to be an organ donor please give your reasons why? be it a religous reason or simply a bad nightmare you had once.

yes of course, why would I need my organs if I am dead?.

I am not going to be cause of a few reasons.

1. I never want to be cut open cause when I die I want to look cool under there.

2. I never want anybody to cut me open because it's gross.

3. I don't care about somebody elses life that I don't know and besides the earths over populated as it is.

4. If I ever come back as a zombie I want to be as less ugly and pwerful as I can be.

And those are my reason.

Well, to tell you the truth, I've stated on my license that I'd be an organ donor. So that really answers this question quite well, don't you think? ^_^

I dont anticipate much of my body will be left to salvage when I'm dead. But it up for grabs if anyone can find anything worth saving.

I will be an organ donor i don't htin that at this age is legally capable about making decisions with my own body, but i know my parents would donate my organs if i were to die. I know i will check if off and do whateverelse needs to be done when i am formally inquired, i won't need anything anymore. I would be a blodd donor right now too, except for the fact they want you over a certain age and whatnot.

I'm not about to let somebody take part of me when I'm dead and put it in themselves, EW! Besides, by the time I'm dead, organs would be made artifically--no need for organ doning. donoring. dorning...

Okay, a little cheesy, but it makes the point. I have no idea what I would actually do, but I am leaning toward yes.

Donating?

Organs liek the Liver are far from being made artifically and working wells. They need to transfer and filter things, even lungs are fused with capilaries and need to transfer oxygen through the lung tissues, while hearts have been made there are many organs that won't be artificially created anytime soon.

Well, according to my lisence I am... but I still am a little scared, especially if they want my heart... It has to be taken from a living body...or one where the blood hasn't stopped flowing...

I checked the little Heart on my driver's licence.

I see no reason why not to...except for that Zombie idea Leo mentioned.


THEY CAN'T MAKE ARTIFICAL ORGANS...especially without something to study...donations!!!

Hey Irish there are things called artificial organs. I dont think i would want my organs donated. Even if it is to save a life i think that someones body shouldnt be cut open and their inards be taken out.

Ya I'm Donating (I don't have my drivers license yet but I will check yes) and maybe if I'm feeling really crazy maybe I'll let them take one of my kidneys.

even the most advanced artificial hearts (the only organ they've REALLY come close to duplicating) can only last for a few years at best...

and of course, the odds of someone surviving the transplant if they're at a critical enough stage to require it are pretty darn slim...

i'm becoming an organ donor as soon as legally possible, and everyone in my family alreadys know my opinion on the subject...

i wish i could donate blood right now, but i'm too afraid to try faking that i'm 18 to try...

You might as well be an organ donor. They're not much good to you when youre dead. So why not give the gift of life and maybe help someone else who might have a chance of living? LOL, that sounded like an advertisement for the red cross. i am an organ donor myself.

As long as I'm no longer living when they're donated. I have no idea why I would need my organs after I was dead (no, not yet), so naturally, I'd donate them. Might as well make a difference for some people.

I am goin to donate my organs when i die, why would i need them ey if im dead. I have donated things like blood before so its really no big a deal, as what was said you give someone something that could lenghten their lives. So i say why not

I would, and am, according to (no surpirse) my drivers licence. Hey, I'm dead, so why should I keep them if I'm going to be creamated anyway?? ^_^ So why doesn't someone just use my organs for good and not let them go to waste?

I'm a sucker for helping people like that. I donate blood. I donate plasma (For the extra 20 bucks a pop though... heh).
But if someone needs something that I can easily provide or supply, i'm all for it.
