Have you ever met somebody who has made you think about stuff?

Today I saw a kid walking alone, S I leave my group of friends just to walk with him.

He walks away from me and I follow, he gets all pissed ad yells STOP FOLLOWING ME! I (who was confused right now) ask him if he wants to be friends. He just walks away, so being the bored person I am, I go and follow. He yells at me again and I jokingly say "Hey why don't you give you msn ID we can go chat sometime" Now he is all quite andI ask him whats wrong an he says he doesn't want to give it to me. I understand and ask him one final question, I ask why don't you wantto be friends? and he says I wanna walk alone, I don't wantay friends cause I'm not gay!.

He got me thinking, what did he really mean... is he just trying to protect himself? is he afraid of being hurt? so tomorrow I'm gonna take another whack at it.

Know what? Probably been burned one too many times. Being rejected by your own peers can really make you bitter and cynical. Maybe he is too used to people making fun of him, or mocking him. If you keep trying you should do well. Its a noble thing, trying to just make friends with a random person, no perks promised. Don't try ;to fool yourself, you are doing a nice thing.

Some people just like being by themselves. When you're alone, there's no one to bug you, no one to lie to you, no one to hurt you; it's very liberating. If I was in the kid's shoes, I would've reacted the same way to you. Well... not in as vocal a fashion; but, generally the same.

Most likely, he thinks you are only talking to him out of pitty. I doubt he's ever going to trust you if you say stuff like, "want to be friends?". If you have a party or something, invite him to go, or if you're going to a concert, a cheap local one of coarse, tell him he should check it out. I wouldn't be to happy if I thought you were pittying me either.

Hmm that "gay" commentary makes me think I think he went through a Rape or something and thats why he does not want you to follow him.

Well, How old is this kid we are talking about? Perhaps some other kids are mockin him. It's a good thing what you are doing... In some cases when you are alone you think in a lot of bad stuff and a friend (comprehensive) shoulder it's what you just need.

Well he probably gets teased by some other kids and think your just going to tease him or are teasing him. I tease a kid I know all the time. He's a crybaby with no friends (well ones that aren't half retarded) and it's just fun to tease him then when he like makes a mistake I say "hey great job maybe next time" it really pisses him off but it's more funner than hell plus that kids in 7th grade so thats even funnier. So thats probably whats happening to the guy you were talking about. He will most likely not change and then maybe you'll go to his house and discover his giant Yugioh card collection. So for my advice stay away from him.

It's nothing bad everybody teases this guy. And it's teasing. I'm just guessing this guy may be like although I hope he's not. Besides the kid I tease is mean to everybody, he's sorta like a bully except I'm treating him with his own medicine.

Well, because everyone else does it it typically makes it worse, becuase your just another person against him. And alot of the times kids like that are mean and abrasive like that because they assume everyone who interacts with him is going to be mean to him, because everyone is. Hell, I used to be exactly like that.

Well now days I have more simpathy for and I hardly ever tease him anymore. The only times I do is when he says something bad about me. Sometimes he's nice to me and sometimes I'm nice to him. Don't make me the bad guy cause he is doing it all to himself. After I read some responses I do however feel sorry for him. But we are pretty much rivals since way back in third grade. I guess from now on I'll be nicer. Though sometimes it's so tempting to make a comeback. Well anyways this is getting off topic

Good point ganoung7, sometimes people needs that others show them how to behave. But if one person is mean to onother, and that is mean to another and so, and so, there will be no end.

A guy I met a few years ago, who became my friend them promptly moved to france somewhat changed my outlook on the world. This dude was crazy, and not just wild crazy, I mean like violent and conspiritaly crazy.

Commen conversations with him would involve him bringing up how the communists were going to rise and retake the country, and how he had found another really good sopt on a hil 200 feet of to snipe his teachers from. Alot of people like that, its just an act, but alot of the stuff this guy said you can tell he ment. I don't think he would actually kill his teachers, but I think he did go searching for spots.....

He changed the way I looked at life in one way. That aspect of him scared me quite a bit, and sort of made me resent him, but I liked his personality. This taught me that friends are not what the person is and what they think, but basically how they treat you. I know this one guy who is racist and somewhat violent at many times, but he treats me with respect and amiability, so I like him. I always argue with him and tell him that his outlook on life is wrong, but he is my friend based on his additude towards me.

Wow, you must be a really nice person to do that, wish there where nice people that lived nere me XD
I think maybe you trying a couple more times wouldn't hurd, maybe it would help him loosen up and see that you actually DO want to be friends ^_^

Hobos are interesting people...
They're always good to talk to, 'cause they have nothing better to do, and they're funny aswell...
You'd think that they were miserable all the time, but they're so cool...
Sometimes it's sad to see them, though. Because people ignore them as if they were animals, and it's so annoying when people give them like, five cents just to humour them...

Lately Me and My cousin have been thinking about being hobos for a week or something... And wear like, tattered clothes and what-not...

Offcourse I think it is childish by Leo to tease the boy, but I wont let it effect the whole thread..

Anyway, yeah, I think it was a bad idea to ask him if he want to be friends with you.. If someone asked me that, I would certanly try to avoid him.. But I was invited on a party or something, I would more likly be friend with someone..
