Thumbs up The ZU Republican, Moderata samlingspartiet, British Conservative Party etc!

This is the place where I hope some young moderate conservatives can come together. As much as I love debate I ask of only one thing. If you disagree with the sorts of people here, please be polite enough to not ruin this for us. The parties may be called different things in each of out nations, but we all agree with each other.

This thread, I hope will let us create arguements so that we will be able to debate.

So yea...please be respectful
Don't flame
Don't SPAM
etc.

Ahem, moderate conservatives? I think you just mean normal conservatives, whereas there is a term for those "radically" to the right.

Anyway, not one to let meaningless wording deter me, I hope we can launch successful discussion. My one question, how do you propose to keep liberals out? Or should they start their own topic and we can schedule "debates". Hrmm, am I overanalyzing?

Or may someone like I, card-carrying opposition, pop in now and then to offer arguments? I won't if you'd rather keep it segregated, but I think it could be fun.

Re: The ZU Republican, Moderata samlingspartiet, British Conservative Party etc!

I was (and this is just little ol' me, just saying) thinking it would be interesting to have a ZU Conservative topic, a ZU liberal topic, etc... (for all you independents) where we could expound on current issues, then when we have topics for debate we could all join in. On the other hand we have to caution that a one sided discussion can get rather dry and boring, and a little opposition may inject some more life in periodically. Or more importantly, that if you only stay in one topic, you may not get "everything". I would recommend, in that case, reading all the political threads, but only posting in your thread of choice. That way you can see how things are when everyone is chummy, and how things are in a real argument.

Oh, hwo did you find out a swedish name for it? Hehe, impressive. Know any Sweish perahops?

I do not like the conservative way. Why? I am afraid this could turn out in flaming. I got rater strongly opponions, but I do not wish so argue if people do not knoe how to handle it. I am afraid it would just be wrong..

.. and liek Kedsky said, a thread just for one opinion isn't very exciting..

Look, it doesn't have to degenerate... I find it funny that the people who predict doom in a thread rarely do anything to stop it. Mods can smell doom a mile away - I leave it to them.

Bobslob and I are on opposite arms of the the political body. I'm practically a socialist (but a lazy one at that). And we've argued a lot. But never has it caught fire - because we have have respect for each other's right to our own opinions. If there comes a point in an argument where you stop debating an issue and start debating each other, that's when you should end it, bow out, and start anew.

Re: The ZU Republican, Moderata samlingspartiet, British Conservative Party etc!

Well, I must learn to expound what I am thinkin better. I simply want this topic not to be a place where conservatives can talk to conservatives. If you wish, you can pop in, but I simply do not want large amounts of liberals overrunning this thread and thus diluting its point. You are smart people, you will understand. I respect your opinions and I hope you can respect mine. I simply have the intention of holding a debate, but I would like to know what sorts of numbers I have, versus the other side. But I feel it is necesary to have such a thread.

Malony...I don't speak Sweedish, but I put it up there so that people from other nations would see it and perhaps come in as opposed to me just puting republicans up there...no one from anywhere else would join. However, I am interested in learning about Sweedish politics. As of right now I know there is the Moderate Party (Blues) and the Liberal Party (Reds)...am I right?

Well, even with quality on out side, quantity may beat us...now if we drag them into a two on two debate, we would win hands down

So like explain your background. Like what sorts of demographics do we have here.

I am a conservative, as said before. I am a Roman Catholic Northerner (Northern half of America) who now lives in North Carolina. Although Bush is not my favorite Republican, I support him over Clark, Dean and the Rest. Bush has a few problems, but he has been a good leader, taking us through September 11th.

mass people cannot beat concentrated knowledge. ill be here too, if this lasts. im fairly knowledgeable about stuff and like arguing...

k, im a conservative southerner. i support bush, though i dont agree with a few of his actions, i think the war was something that needed to be done, and was exeecuted well. the things i mostly dont agree with him about are problems with things back home, as i support most, if not all of his foreign policy.

Oh Sorry Bako! Didn't see your post earlier. That makes out nubers 3! Hurray. Although I admit, I am a speaker, not a political writer. I can't argue as well when typing.

My main complaint of Bush is that he goes against conservative principle. Conservatives believe that government should be smaller (tax less) but also spend less. Bush has not spent less. Still Republicans can not be split. We must all support Bush. Any division and the democrats will triumph.

Re: The ZU Republican, Moderata samlingspartiet, British Conservative Party etc!

I am a Conservative northerner, New york (a real northerner Sammy, j/k), and Catholic. I agree with IS, sure, I dont think Bush is prefect, but I still prefer him to everyone else. I generally agree with his economic and foreign policy.

EDIT: Indeed, conservatives have lost the battle over big government, but you can't really lower spending going into war, its a tough thing to do. It'll be much easier when you dont have an army to support. Know what needs to be stopped? Pork, I hate pork, only money for the actual bill's purpose should be allowed on it.
