My dads been arrested.

We were driving home this night, we were about home. Anyways, we were in the middle of an intersection and his shift knob came off (screws came loose) and he had to accelerate to get through and avoid wrecks. Well, a cop pulled us over. He was going to let us go UNTIL he found that my dad has a unpayed speeding ticket from Texas, and they had a warrant for arresest. So, my dad not arguing said ok, so the cop followed us back to our house a block away. He got out and the cop asked us to go inside, your dad will be back later tonight. I looked through the window and saw another squad car pull up and away he went. Dont think my dad is a criminal or anything, just a big misunderstanding took place. This sucks sooooo bad right now, im so worried about him..........

And to think this morning we were joking about him getting arrested for this very reason. Weird how life works.

It's too bad that they have to bring him in for that, but they do have a good reason in order to do it. If your dad simply didn't know about the ticket, it should be fine, but if he was purposely avoiding paying it, then, well...that's another story.

No, he wasnt..........that hasnt been his 1# priority through the divorce with my mom. A rather nasty one at that.

Your dad got arresested for not paying for a speeding ticket. Wow that's one mashed up country. Don't worry jace your dad will be out in a snap.

All states have different laws and regualtions. Texas happens to have very strict ones. Escpecially in a small town, or "speed trap" it was only for 4 over .....................0_0 I thank you civ for the support.

should be cleared up soon enough, though... ^_^... the police don't want to deal with this thing as much as your dad doesn't... :::grins:::

Hopefully as soon as your dad pays it he'll be out, of course there will be other things to pay for, liek the failure to pay in the first place, and any court charges that might occur 0.o My best wishes that it goes smoothly to you.

Oh well, doesn't sound like either your dad or the police guy were making a huge deal out of it, so it should presumibally be all sorted out in a while. Hope it goes good for ya.

Don't worry, places with strict laws just want to shake people up a bit. He'll pay a hefty fine and be back. They wouldn't let you stay alone for very long. You'll hear from him very soon. Right now, your Dad is probably waiting for papers to run through.

Like I said, the police force knows better than to leave you alone for too long.

BTW, Im 15 so they wont be minding the time too much, and yes...........police around here dont have too much of this, and my dad drives a "hot-rod" or a "fast and the furious" car, which draws attention. Not to mention very very loud..........well, here is half the reason he was pulled over >_<

Alright, good news. I got off the phone with his minutes ago and he is on the way home! I thought hewould be back later but he got it all straightened out. Thanks for the support guys, though he wasnt gone for long. A mod can lock this if he wants.
