Hobbies gone out of control

Have you ever just started buying something that you like, then after a while, you realize that you have more then the law should allow?

the black cards........ yes, they're right... once you go black, you never go back haha.

I also have a HUGE collection of Zelda Sprites, and Swords and knives.

i thought it would be interesting to see all the things that people just randomly accumulate and dont notice it.

Re: Hobbies gone out of control

I don't really collect things without noticing, besides my stuff collecting dust()...I think. The only thing that may've slipped under my nose would be my Legos. Man, I had a lot of those things. Accumulated whilst I was little. And, if I remember correctly, I have a fair amount of little plastic figures(Pokémon, Monster Rancher...) in storage.

Re: Hobbies gone out of control

Well...... I do have around 250 volumes of manga stuffed into 3 boxes....... >.> I won't be taking any pictures of that though. Rather messy....... XD Also, I have a whole furniture dedicated to school supplies. My aunt says I have enough pencils to supply a country................ Before I used to have like 200 wooden and rock boxes. Some expensive ones too. Then we put the boxes in boxes....... I haven't seen them since.

Re: Hobbies gone out of control

The ten-thousands of Legos I have to rank up there my hobby gone wild. I have a whole tub full of the little plastic pieces, which I have been collecting from sets and models since I was 9 or so. I even have a completly seperate bin for the hard-to-find Lego piecesm, such as wings, controlers, wheels, etc. all of them in a small drawer shelf. Yeah, I'm organized when it comes to Lego, seeing as I like to get models done as quickly as possible.

Re: Hobbies gone out of control

Well since my hobbies are sports...

I have 15 pairs of skis 10 of which are actually used for racing... The others are random old race pairs or fat Pow skis I had the chance to get some of them autographed by the Canadian, American and Austrian ski teams. 6 pairs of poles, 2 race pairs of boots (and like 2 old pairs) 3 Spyder skin suits and 2 old Louis Garneaus 3 helmets (2 broken) and 6 goggles frames....

I own around 20 player hockey sticks mostly given to me by my dad's friends (15 of them signed by NHL players) and 4 of my goaltender sticks still survive (2 of them signed my Marty Brodeur and Patrick Roy) As well as Full Koho goalie gear and a set of older/cheaper player stuff for pond hockey.

I have my golf clubs but they arnt really anything special. Titleist 690 Irons Titleist 904T driver VSteel 13deg 3 wood and cleveland CG10 wedges... I also have around 200 golf balls, mostly different and some played by some top pros... The weirdest ones being the Nike Black Ball and the PING 2 color collectible ball.

I also randomly own a Butterfly Table Tennis Bat, Triathlon bike, baseballs, squash gear (which I use actively) ORchid Cues and stuff, a full body swim suit (from my racing days, way too small now) .... Alot of this stuff (like the cue and the table tennis stuff was given to me)

Just so peoples dont think I throw money out of the window for fun... Im fully sponsored for ski and golf gear and my dad is wired in the Montréal Canadien hockey club... So im quite fortunate to get all that stuff... Im also a ratpack, I keep whatever the heck comes in my hands... Especially ski gear.

And I think im going WAY too far

LEGOS... I have boxes of the stuff kept the snow days busy when I was young... Now you got me going I want to see if I still have them... what were you guy's favorite sets?... I remember playing with the ice miner things for days on end... I also had a bunch of Pirates and Aviations ones.

The_Enigma_Lies_Broken-> that card collection is AMAZING how did you find all those? I especially like the black ones...

Lozzie -> Stargate is the best show in the world... but I lost cable now so I can't watch it but yea I wish I could afford (or find for that matter) all those DVDs (Quite hard to find SciFi stuff round here)

For those who collect comics and Manga... I have all the Tintin comics and most of the Asterix ones... But I hardly consider those a hobby of mine... So I find completely amazing the ones that have like Hundreds of those O_o

That reminds me, I have like a billion Garfield and Foxtrot comic books too. I also have EVERY SINGLE Calvin and Hobbes book. But alas..... I share all of them with my brother.

I don't know if this counts, but I have a HUGE collection of video games. XD

Re: Hobbies gone out of control

*Sigh* I can completley relate - only for me, it's David Bowie XD.

Took some rather horrendeous pics on the webcam, to give you an idea of what I've got o_0 .

Very large Aladdin Sane poster.

Roughly half of my dvds, I've got a good few more of his movies on disk aswell.

I only have two T-Shirts, unfortunatley. Stores around here prefer to stock nothing but Green Day >_> .

SOme CDs.

More. Just realised I messed this up, and quite a few appear in both photos. Bah. I THINK I have about 40 Bowie related cds, and a hell of a lot more unreleased and live stuff on the computer.

Favourite Bowie biography - most are terrible. And of course Labyrinth, which gets a close up 'cos it's so awesome.

Dear god, it's the Bible! Basically a tomb of Ziggy Stardust photos, with the Bowie providing a commentary.

And a shot of the Labyrinth poster <3. Yes, I know it looks like static from the TV, but if you squint you MIGHT be able to make it out XD.

Ack, there's still sooo much more I don't yet own - I havn't even opened my account with BowieBank yet! Actually, that's one thing I wouldn't do, even though it would be nice to have a Bowie credit card. hmm.

I'm also looking out for a video game called The Nomad Soul, in which the Bowie wrote the soundtrack and pops up in from time to time. I've heard of a character in something called Xenosaga or something based on him aswell, but I doubt I'll buy it just for that XD.

Yes, he's a money grabbing whore, and I really shouldn't buy into it - but I really can't help myself. He's one of the favourites to play the Joker in the new Batman movie aswell, which will probably spawn alot of spin off merchandise.

Maybe I should warn my bank manager >_0 .

I have lotsa Garfield comics myself ^^. I used to get in trouble when I was a lil' girl because I'd always read them at the back of the classroom during religious studies .

I have a huge collection of handbags XD. All different shapes and sizes. Why I need so many, I have absolutely noooo idea XD

Umm, I like earrings XD. That's only a third of my collection, though. I've left some at my best friends house, my sisters room, my parents room... all over the place

And you know those card photos you take at arcades and stuff? Yeah, I hate to think how much money our local arcade has made from my addiction to them XD

Perfume stuff I mostly wear at night, though I wear CK Summer or Christian Dior's J'adore during the day. Half my collection, too, because my mom has some, my sisters, my friends, blah. Sharing is caring.

I adore reading fantasy, thriller, horror books. These are the books that couldn't fit onto my shelf and so went into a big box.

I also have lotsa Miyazaki DVD's which, unfortunately, has made its rounds with the family and friends, so no pics there for now. Same goes for my Street Figher Manga videos--vintage video set XD. My old school consoles are in my brothers room and he's asleep, so I can't go in there. Um, what else... I think that's it... ^^.

Edit: I read over my post and realised I said "I only wear perfume at night, though I wear it during the day.." WTF XD XD. Mainly at night, damnit, MAINLY XD.

I've got quite a large box of books that won't fit on the shelf too. Somehow, I managed to fit said box into my closet. Whenever I have a bit of money, I visit library book sells and buy several bags of books - why, I cannot be sure, as I will go to the same library the next day and check out twenty or so books. Books, therefore, is the number one hobbie that I have that has gotten out control.

The second is library cards. I love libraries, and try to obtain a card every time I visit outside my county and/or state. So far, I have one from Maryland, one from Arizona, and several from Virginia.

The third, which has proved to fill my room to its utmost capability by far, is rocks. I don't collect rocks any longer, but there was a time when a day could not go by without some bag of rocks finding itself in my room. My parents finally told me to throw my rocks out. But I retained a basket of the nicest ones, which I have secured in my room.

My fourth hobby-gone-wild is my collection of notebooks. My room is chockful of them.
