What character traits do you look for in a hero?

Well, I would like them ALL to be very original and well developed.Im not really into the mad, kill when you get angry thing.Or the revenge when something goes wrong thing.What do you look for?

Well, personally, Link is the ideal sort of hero I like. Strong, noble, silent, crafty and the like. But there are exceptions. I love the Terry Prattchet Discworld books, and my favorite "hero" from any of those is Rincewind. Fast, cowardly, witty, and somewhat of a loser.

Id say my favorite heros ever were Squall Leonhart and Link.(Why doesnt link have a last name?)

Courage. Not courage based on reward, or even expectation of victory, but courage that is its own end. In standing up for what is right, because it is regardless, even if death and loss are certain.

I think that a Hero has to have to some sort of Ruthlessness. They have to get these criminals who have committed these terrible crimes and deal out the justice they see fit.
I'd have to say that my favourite Hero is Nolan ra Sinjaria, the Justice Talion from the book Talion: Revenent (sp?) by Michael A. Stackpole (He also writes lots of Star Wars novels, including the X-Wing series)

Traits of a hero:
~Gunslinger, preferably pistols
~ human (or vampire)
~looks cool
~stays cool under heavy pressure (like vash or spike)
~has a kind of partner
~preferably a girl partner
ehh... that's all I can think of...

A Hero?............well I believe ther is no such thing as a hero. But if there WAS I belive He or she will protect all he/she loves. Everyone can be a hero to someone. A protector. The ulimate Hero.

The best thing in a Hero is his looks, what he does, and why he does it.
Having a cold hero like Cloud, Squall and alot of other characters tends to boost their popularity.

Well let's see, hmm, One of a kind, they never look like a different hero before them, and of course silent, and maybe they have a deep dark secret about them, it makes them look mysterious and that's always a good thing IMO

Silent, Noble, Kind, Loving, Wise, and Courageous. That is the ideal hero. He or she must will stand up to anything that has the intention of hurting innocents. They will fight for love and kindness. Even if they have a vengful purpose, like my fav Samurai Jack and Link, they will always be on the good side!

The traits i look for heroes and heorines are brains, power, aditue.... i like it when they are grumpy, like saito. they ahve to be somewhat cold, but show their emotions every once in a while.
Someone who can win a battle, or save people by jsut talking, somone who would never give up.

Heroine

A hero eh? They'd have to be calm, and layded back. Deep, They'd have to have emotional problems and such. They should make you both sad and happy. Thats Spike and Mamimi, my two favorite anime characters/heros.
