It has come again...

Friday the 13th. Some don't believe in it and some fear it. How has your Friday the 13th been so far? Mine was a mix of good and bad luck. First, I finished a project before midnight, but then, because of that, I woke up late. Then I got a 95 on my Physics but, then I realized I forgot my project at home.

It's the same as any other Fridays.... I don't see a difference at all. Some people are too superstitious about these things. The number 13 isn't bad luck at all. In fact, if it brings people bad luck, then my mathematic textbooks shouldn't use number 13 at all. Yet, most of the correct answers have 13 in them.

i don't believe in that superstitious crap... It was the same as any other day, except i forgot to get some stuff signed.

I'm sick.

I had a sugar fueled nap which made me feel like crap when I woke up. Does that count as unlucky?

this Friday the 13th nonsense is just that, nonsense.

I don't recall ever having anything bad happen to me on friday the 13th, I suppose at some point in time there has been something bad that happend but I don't blame it on some date on a calender. People that are paranoid enought to wait for something bad to happen to them on friday the 13th deserve to have it happen, you should not be so invovled about some dumb date on a calender.

One bad think happend today, it is raining outside so I am going to blame that on Friday the 13th. But wait it has been raining all month, maybe I should blame that on friday the 13th as well. You see it is just some stupid superstitious nonsense .

I've never been superstious about Friday the 13th, but I have always thought of it as a quool day. Heh, today I went around telling my family, "Happy Friday the 13th!". ^_^ I can't remember anything strange or weird ever happening on a Friday the 13th, although my first ever sleepover was on one, heh. But no, I don't believe in the bad luck thing, I just have always thought it was a neat day. ^_^ And who knows? Maybe something strange or interesting will happen. But if it does...it'll just be a neat coincidence.

Nah mine was pretty bad, I done bad on my prelims and then acted like a fool infront of a girl that I like, and some other stuff.

I have good days and bad days, had a long streak of good days but it ended here.

Why does everybody think it is bad luck? I can't remember anything bad ever happening to me or anyone I know on Friday the 13th. Where did all of this get started anyway?

My little brother was born on Friday the 13th as well. Did you say bad luck? I've had it ever since... ever. Something bad happens every day. Friday the 13th is just a superstition that reaches you. Your mind thinks about it so much that you tend to goof up and immediately, the thought recurs to you as today being a jinx, pretty much.

Every good thing that happens is followed by a bad thing. For example, this is today...

Event: I did very well on my quiz on math, I believe.
Bad: I think I failed my History test.

Event: I think I did well on my Grammar Test.
Bad: I lose my pencil case after the test.

Event: Someone finds it for me.
Bad: The grammar test for Latin was harder than I thought.

Event: I got an A+ in my sight translation test for Latin.
Bad: I need a book, pen, and I have a quiz tomorrow. I also am going to have to explain the translations I do for homework.

Event: My dad said he was going to go to a Computer Show to get the PCI video card I need to run a game.
Bad: It's my dad's birthday tomorrow and now I feel very low for sending him to do that.

See? It's one of those laws of the world. Light can't exist without darkness and vice-versa. Good is nothing without evil and vice-versa. That was the whole day up until now, by the way.

I say that it's fun to observe your day carefully and see if it becomes any worse than normal, but for the most part, I don't beleive that the day has any associations with a supernatural force that makes everybody miserable and prone to terrible things on that particular "cursed" day. I think some people probably get a certain bias from knowing that it's that day and then try to nitpick every little misfortune that they get during the day and then it will seem pretty unlucky in comparison to other days. Try to apply some rational thought into it, really and I really doubt that it's an incredibly bad day. Pretty much could all be in your head. As for myself, my day was fine. My homework load for the weekend is a little sizable, but that was mainly because I neglected to do them when they were initally assigned-- a few days back. No social awkwardness today. I actually had a fun day in swimming. I spent some time with friends and yada yada. This day wasn't that bad.

I have never encountered any bad luck on Friday the 13th that I can remember.... but it still makes me wonder how the myth, if it really is one, originated. Oh, and I believe my friend's cat died of a heart attack on a Friday the 13th.

The only reason why everyone wanted to hype up about Friday the 13th is simple - it brings more entertainment that day. You see freaky shows and horror movies appearing on television screens and possibly movie theaters. Friday the 13th is the best day to broadcast these kind of shows and recieve high ratings.
