Community Thread XI

(Same rules apply from the previous CT)

This thread is for the following purposes:
  • Vacation Notices
  • Announcing your absence due to vacation or other reasons ahead of time.

  • Landmark Posts
For instance, "I just got 1,000 posts;" any post dealing with a post milestone (hundreds, generally).

  • "I'm back" Posts
Announcing your return to the forums after a long (a few days at least) absence.

  • Birthdays
Announcing that it is your birthday, or congratulating someone on theirs.

  • Name Changes
Announcing that your name has been changed.

  • Personal Events
Announcing important moments in your personal life.

This is NOT a spam topic. Any posts consisting of one word (i.e. "Hey" or "Cool") or anything of that nature, will be deleted. No flaming will be tolerated either. If you must settle something by fighting, do it outside of ZU. In addition, this is not a chat topic; that is, don't get into stupid and short discussions with no purpose.

And of course, as always, the ZU forum rules still apply.

Also, if you see that your topic is on this list, post it in here, rather than giving it its own topic. Any topics that are supposed to be in the CT will be merged.

And finally, a word to staff: when merging topics with the CT, if there is a poll in the thread, do not merge the threads. The CT will then have an un-deletable poll. If the topic has a poll, lock it and tell the author to post the info in here instead.

Today marks the end of my marking term. I pulled off honor roll. I managed to bring my F in Western Civ all the way up to a B-. My folks certainly are happy, though they never knew about the F.

Yay for not failing! That's odd that your marking period ends now... You have four, right?

I used to get F on every progress report in Science but an A+ on the actual report card. It was the most awesome class ever. The teacher was amazing, although I don't think I learned any actual science. Who cares, though?

THIRD POST!

Wow. Nice, Commie.

I'm not sure what I have right now, but I don't think I have any B's. Meaning I have all A's.

Re: Community Thread XI

I got my semester results yesterday. I had As in all my exams, save for Gym, which had a C(direct result of my pathetic, physical incapabilities and my lack of confidence in fitness tests). I also managed to get all As in all my second quarter though, which went along nicely with my first quarter making all my semester average lined up with As. I was very happy. My parents were a little indifferent, but I guess this is their idea of trying to encourage me or something of that sort. But the most suprising thing was that I ranked 27th out of 690 freshmen. Sweet stuff, considering my GPA can only go so high because I'm only in two honors classes. High school isn't looking too bad, overall. Heh.

That truely sounds like an amazing feat, one I doubt I could pull off (despite getting straight A's, with the occasional B).

Yes, by marking term I meant just term, or a quarter, as it is also called.

Quote:
Who cares, though?
I feel bad saying I don't, but I really hate Science. So yes, I don't care. Well I care whether or not you do good in the class, just I don't care.....for....me? That didn't come out right.

Could also have meant you had all F's.

Feels good to have something to comment to so you can get those top three posts in the shiny thread, doesn't it?

And thank you for everyone who said, "Yay for not failing!" or "Wow. Nice, Commie."

EDIT: Seems like you guys are eager to respond to my grades. They must be really interesting.

Thank you Trv.

See Frost, everywhere. I read so much from you, I actually knew that you were getting a C and that your parents didn't care. I swear Frost, it is like you are dragging me by a leash.

Re: Community Thread XI

*claps* Good job Comrade. Also, happy birthday OoT Master!

In other news, our teachers have starting giving us all sorts of junk about highschool. One of them has wasted a total of several hours because we keep getting him to read aloud the requirements for GT, honors, and the stuff like that. All the guys in my class gasp and act surprised, and the teacher never remembers that he's read it to us ten times already. Now, they have been dumping another class into or reading class so that the guidance counceler could attempt to walk us through a big book of useless information. It gets rather boring, especially because the other class doesn't know how to be quiet. They also have gum every day when they came in. It's pretty hard to get the teacher off topic with them around. Now, my endless stack of books is even bigger.

I also missed an audition in strings for seating today. The stupid english teacher wouldn't let me leave, and therefore I shall be in trouble for the next class. The music is still way to easy for us, and way to hard for the second violins. Today we palyed through a song we had done in 6th grade, and we (the first violins) were the only ones who didn't struggle with it. I hate the new teacher. However, the good news is that we get our old teacher back next year in highschool, and we get all of the best players again too!

In otehr news, I gots a giant candy cane! It's yummy...

Yes, happy birthday Oot Master!

I don't get my term results till... Jan. 20 or something.

On the 23rd I'm taking the SAT.

Yes, I know, I'm thirteen, but so what?

I'll be happy if I get at least an 800. ^___^

After a minor incident with the floor, I am unable to measure it. I am also incapable of finding a ruler. I believe it was about ten inches long and between one and two centimeters in diameter.

Another story! Recently, my math teacher has been handing out Suduko puzzles! Yay! My friend Alison got a few of them, but she likes to them at lunch wthout help. Therefore, me and Christine find numbers and then we point at them until she finally writes them in. "You be quiet!" She says that everytime we start to stare at her puzzle, then we point out numbers we see even with her telling us not to. It's rather entertaining. Then she decided to finally find a solution to her problem. She gave us puzzles too! Yay! Now I'm stuck because she gave me an extra hard one...

Re: Community Thread XI

I have an announcement......

despite a few failed papers, I (like comrade) have manage to bring my grade up!
At the beginning of the six weeks (the length of our terms) I had like... a 50 average.
I brought it up to a 92 average...whoo!

This is in algebra by the way.

Re: Community Thread XI

I (unlike other people here) have had my grades drop by a large degree. The problem is, I can't focus on the subject at hand, it's just too boring. Sometimes, I get to wondering about ZU. Unfortunatly, if this gets any worse, I will have to take a temporary hiatus from ZU.

And it doesn't help that the school I go to goes until 4:00 P.M.

So, if I suddenly vanish, take it that my grades just went down the pooper.

Re: Community Thread XI

My grades are still up! (amazingly) I still have an A in each class excpet my EVIL math teacher gave me a C in citizenship!! I get a perfect score on each test. I do fine on my homework, but WHAT do I get? A ******* C!!!! *sigh* Sorry.... I only curse when I think of my math and history teachers..... At least my history teacher gave me an A.

Oh I have GOOD news! In my school newspaper I got two articles, four drawings, and a comic in! Some people I know only got one article or none! I'm so amazed! I think I did good!!
