Re: Midis. help
yes, it's completely possible. There are many keyboards by Yamaha that I like which are MIDI-compatable. I especially love the ones which are USB-MIDI, meaning that you don't have to fumble with specific plugs just for MIDI input and output.
http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/...205200,00.html The above is a link to what I use. It's a wonderful keyboard with 500+ voices. Not only that, but I recently figured out how to switch the MIDI out on my computer so that MIDIs play out of the keyboard when it's on. I also use Sonar 4 Producer Edition to make my MIDIs, of which it becomes an option to play on the keyboard in order to enter notes into the MIDI when you use the "record" function.

Re: Midis. help
you can use any keyboard that says "midi compatible." there are many programs out there you can use. a good one for beginners is Fruity Loops. I use Reason and Cubase, along with a couple other programs to finalize the songs. the problem with these is that if you want them legally, they're expensive, and you might also have trouble getting used to them. Reason is hard at first (it's basically a bunch of simulated analog synthesizers, samplers, sequencers, and filters. you can even do the wiring in the back), but you can do anything with it.
