What Instruments Do You Play?

I was slightly surprised that their wasn't a thread that asked this question. I think this hasn't been started, so please forgive me if I have been mistaken. so I will tell you what instruments I play and for how long.

Clarinet- 3 years
Piano- 4 years
Alto Sax- 3 years
Violin- 3 years

I play all these instruments very well. I would like to play Oboe, as well.

I play the violin. This is my 6th year playing it too. I like fast songs, and I think I'm pretty good a playing too.

Sax (alto and soprano): 6 years
Guitar: 6 years
Piano: 3 years
Flute: 3 years
Double Bass: 2 years

Ah man all of you play many things! I play Alto Saxaphone, Piano, and my mom wants me to start guitar, no objections against that!

I played the drums for three years. After that I lost interest and stopped taking lessons. As a result, I ceased playing the drums altogether. After two years I took and interest in instruments again when my buddy was looking online for a guitar. Everyone, or at least at my school, plays the guitar. I decided to play the bass guitar instead and I have been playing for almost a year. I am hoping to eventually learn double bass.

I don't know how many times we must have had this conversation, by now.

Electric bass: 2½ years.
Electric guitar: I haven't started playing seriously yet, but with my knowledge of how to play the bass(and music in general) I think I'll be able to learn pretty quick. And I'm gonna buy an Epiphone Les Paul for a very low price, from one of my friends, soon.

I'm also experimenting with some piano and keyboard.

I hear you, I had problems with that one to, but it's really fun to play once you learn it.

I've played violin for about twelve years now, started when I was five. I'm not very good, though. Right now I'm working on Max Bruch's Concerto No. 1. Having some serious problems, especially with the double-stops. Nasty.

I've also played my guitar (which I built from scratch) for about three years, give or take. I'm desperate to form a band, but no one in my area is up to it, so I'll just wait until I'm in college to form one.

Piano-5 years
French Horn-2 years (really good, too. I'm in the highest band @ school)

I've been playing the acoustic guitar for roughly 10 weeks. I'm getting slightly better each day, I think, though I'm still having trouble with chords.

That is great though that you play an instrument that no one else really plays. You can get schollarships to schools for music if you play a less played instrument. That is really awesome, the French Horn is very sweet.

Ahaha... I guess you gave me a new way of lookin at the "rarity". But yeah, you're right! French Horns rock!-^_^-

I had my third piano lesson last saturday!

Violin=5 years. Flute=3 years

It's great that people play instruments. I would also like to play the drums as well. I have a lot of friends that play instruments and most of them are in the top bands in their school. I am in 7th grade and we don't have a top band. We just have a 7th grade band. Nothing special, but we rock!! I play clarinet in band but I play alto in jazz band. Piano, I just play for recitals, competitions, and other events. I play in a wind ensemble that my friends and I made, and we have played in different local events and scool events. I took up Oboe and Violin because I wanted to do some type of string and lower sounding instrument. In band we don't have first or second chair. We have chair test, though, but that is just for fun. In high school, for my district, that is when they start having first and second chair in band. I play, alto sax in jazz band and I am pretty good. I need to work on improvising though. I know all my scales well, but sometimes I get them mixed up with different instruments. I like playing piano the best. but I like to bring my clarinet if I want to bring it to play somewhere. The case is light is no problem with that. I play my alto sax for jazz and Oboe for other things. The violin, I just play. I can't join the school orchestra because you can only take one music class during a year. Well, band and orchestra is a full year commitment and is also a class. So we do get a grade in it. I took band, because that is what I picked first. Well, thank you!

cello, almost 11 years.
upright bass, 1 year maybe, but I don't own one, and I only play it in jazz bands.
piano, but not officially. I played for a year a long time ago, and now I'm going back to it just for fun.

I'm still considering going into cello performance as a career. I'm joining the montrealy youth symphony orchestra soon, and I'm also going to audition for the national youth orchestra. I'm in a couple bands, and I do a lot of improv stuff.

I really want to start playing tenor sax and accordion, but I don't have the money yet for either.

i have been playing electric guitar for 2 years
i am trying to learn call of klutu(by metallica) for my highscools talent show,hopefully i can learn it in time,auditions are in a week
