Re: Americans

I think it's really sad that there are so many people worldwide who have a poor impression of Americans, but have only personally met a dozen or so. I've never been that big of a fan of massive stereotyping. It wouldn't be fair for Americans to stereotype European countries as being one way or another, and vice-versa. Sure, I still enjoy a good Dutch-bashing Austin Powers movie, but it doesn't mean I hate the Dutch or think they're inferior. Heck, I think I see about as much America bashing on TV than anything else.

Oh, and for the record, the education system does need a tune-up. Big time. There are, of course, those rare school systems that are outstanding... But the truth of the matter is, the large majority of students don't get that kind of education. Maybe if the administration would actually start pushing for education reforms (health care, anyone?), instead of buying more tanks, we could improve these school systems.

Hey, don't blame me for G.W. Bush, world. I didn't vote for him. I'm starting to think the Republican Party should jump for joy in 2008, so they can get a new party image.

Re: Americans

I would like to note, that American schooling systems tend to receive better funding than in other countries. THe problem is where the money goes, some executive robs it from the schools they claim to represent, it's rather top-down. As for Bush, some like him, others don't, my thought would be that we should have finished saddam off in the 90s, if Clinton did it, noone would have complained, same as if it were done in the gulf war. In the end when it comes to amny wars though America is it's own worst enemy, we put Sadam in power.

Which on a tangent lead to another thing, the British did a really crudy job of splitting up the middle east, ethnic groups are litterally split between countries.

I'd love to see this 'evidence' you're speaking about.

3. OK what I was trying to say was that you military tatics leave a lot to be desired, you rely on sheer power and intimidation, no tatical stratigies are included. And a stratigy is often the result of a great mind, lets take chess as an example.
Our military never used tactics? Yep, I'm sure we probaly just wanted to nuke Iraq seeing how stupid we are.

5. Do I really need to say it, anyone can walk into a store, buy a gun, and shoot whoever or whatever they want.
So that means I can go to my local supermarket, go to the produce section, and pull out an AK-47 and shoot people? Wow, those restrictions on who can buy a gun and where they can be sold must be a myth according to your logic!

6. It does because you voted for him and thus resulted in him serving as president, and again voted for him to serve for another term!
zOMG, BUSH SUX ND SO DO THE PPL THT VOTED FOR HIM, LOLOL. So, according to you, those peaceful, rebellious, Anti-Bush people are better then those evil, nasty, war mongering Bush supportes, eh? Nice job on blaming a countries intellegence on a leader.

7. It means most americans are not willing to learn about the rest of the world
Oh really? Why does America have ambassadors, the UN, and a muticutral population to boot? I guess we Americans really are ignorant of the world around us, so we must not read the news or read history!

And by the way I've noticed that most of the americans on these forums are not stupid, and are some of the few that actuallly know how to use their brains.
I also noticed that some of the spammers that have invaded this site have come from Australia. Why don't I start saying that your country has the most idiots?

So in conclusion, your just basing the intellegence of all of America off of a few idiots, which is showing how ignorant you are of the world around you. See the major contradiction?

Re: Americans

Okay, some people are taking this thead locking in an entirely wrong direction, questioning my motives and accusing me of locking it because I'm Pro-America. Needless to say, I knew that people would take the post in that manner, so I'm not surprised at all at what I recieved. Am I psychic? No. Are you people predictable? Yes.

I am, and have always been, never biased. You will never, ever, in a million years, find me locking a thread because I am biased towards or against a specific country, race, whatever. Locking a thread for such a reason is unacceptable. If I wanted to express my opinion, I could have done so bluntly and without locking the thread. If you look closely at my locking post, you'll realize that it contains no statement about America, or any other country. How, then, can people get the idea that I am forming an opinion about something? Assumptions - once again, predictable.

Rule #1 About GC: He sucks at having any political views whatsoever. He couldn't debate this kind of topic if you handed him a written speech to present on the subject.

However, I recieved multiple complaints about this thread, and looking it over I realized how out of hand things had gotten. These threads have never worked out. And I doubt they ever will.

Any further questions regarding the lock, please PM me.
