I need computer help!

Ok I have finially made the move to Broadband.

I have bought a router and everything. everything is connected, I had to buy a network card then relize that I have one factory standard one on it.

Then I go to install it and it says that I need a LAN board o0, WTF. So is it working or not!

Another thing is that the ADSL might not have been installed yet so yeah.

I will ring them up tomorrow to help me set-up everything, but if you'se have any ideas?

Umm.. I dont have that problem cause i have DSL...did u enable the LAN??

go to network connections and see if the LAN is enabled..oh and how r u using the internet??

I have dial up aswell, and LAN should be connected, how would one connect the LAN?

Getting an ethernet connection set up is always a pain, for me at least.

Before anything, turn your computer off. Make sure your router is recieving an internet connection from your modem properly.

Plug in the ethernet cable while the computer is off. Turn the computer back on. You're not home free just yet.

Eh, I've unfortunately run out of time for this post. Expect me back in a couple hours, after school >_>... I shall continue.

Rightio, I think the main problem is that the ADSL line isn't activated yet.
