New Orleans, Sept. 1, 2005 - It's criminal. From what you're hearing, the people trapped in New Orleans are nothing but looters. We're told we should be more "neighborly." But nobody talked about being neighborly until after the people who could afford to leave … left


There are gangs of white vigilantes near here riding around in pickup trucks, all of them armed, and any young Black they see who they figure doesn't belong in their community, they shoot him.


But nobody cares. They're just lawless looters ... dangerous


The hurricane hit at the end of the month, the time when poor people are most vulnerable. Food stamps don't buy enough but for about three weeks of the month, and by the end of the month everyone runs out. Now they have no way to get their food stamps or any money, so they just have to take what they can to survive.


Every day countless volunteers are trying to help, but they're turned back. Almost all the rescue that's been done has been done by volunteers anyway.


here is the real truth, they were watching our in need of help Americans die and suffer because they are afraid of us African Americans and other poor races & it make me mad because these scum just are sitting around while people die and it is sick.


they can't even take care of our affairs here in America, how are they going to help other country's when this place is a hell hole. It made me sick to see Veterans dying and they fault for this country like my dad, & my step brother is now fighting in Iraq & even he called me & said that he feels ashamed & appalled at what he has saw this week from our fake country

Sounds to me that you're just being too paranoid about whites.

I doubt the amount of blacks in New Orleans are contributing to the lack of help. What kind of logic is that? You're just in that small group of black people that think all whites hate you when we don't. Stop thinking we want you dead. Besides, who's saying those people are shooting just at blacks? They're shooting at most people who try to help them.

I may be white, but I have nothing against African Americans, and I think that they're very important to this country, so please lay off the racist remarks, as those so-called racists are doing the best they can to help New Orleans. As for rescues, it's not just volunteers who are helping, since there are other groups too, but it is hard for them to help when they're constantly being shot at, and forced to turn back. And no, the country does NOT want you to die. The President himself is trying to get more people and government officials to help in New Orleans.

This thing was covered on Snopes The key part is the third paragraph which points out why this doesn't prove anything, two different photographers, different newspapers, different countries, the only thing at all similar is who owns those companies, who have very little to do with the day to day running of them.

It's not flaming, it's an opinion. You are free to express your opinion on the board. Plus, there is much logic to what he has to say.

That article is racist, no matter how you look at it. "Looting" and "finding" are too different things. You have to look into it, but it's there, the racism is there.

If you care about what President Bush has to say though, he specifically stated that the lack of response from the federal government to the disaster was not because of racism.

I read the evidence in the thread, and I stand by my opinion, although I wasn't really thinking when I said "no matter what". There could be possible racism presented here.

Once again, may I remind that I said Bush explained that the "lack of response" wasn't because of racism at all.

Final Verdict: I don't (completely) agree with the person who started this thread, I believe they are misguided, but they certainly weren't flamming, they were stating their opinion.

If you think about it ; There is rasism every where . There is nothing we can do .
It is natural to catigorise peole on how they look or how they dress . I'ts human nature .
It is people that nitpick over tiny little details , that make most people afriad of being called a biggoted dickhead . It's people like that who make rasism even worse .
If you keep foucusing about differences insted of similiarites . There will be more xenophobics . We are all humans inside , so it's point less to be a biggot.
It's not like we are all completey different races like the gerudos and the zoras .

As for the article I think it is just a mere misunderstanding .
