Because I do this everywhere, the Cars thread.

I always do this in hopes of finding a few fellow gearheads/tuners.

What does everyone drive, and further more... What cars are you into?

Right now I drive a 2003 Saturn L300. Thing is, it's not truly a Saturn... GM rebadged the Opel Vectra and brought it here as the Saturn L300. It's a 3 litre V6. In short, it has balls. I beat the hell out of my car... I'm pretty sure it wasn't built to Drift, but I do it anyway with admirable results... I mean, it's Automatic and front wheel drive/front engine (Henceforth known as FF). I can still get it sideways though, so no complaints here.

Ideally I'd like to drive something more...modifiable. I'd love a Nissan 240SX. Preferably a 90, I like the S13 model better. I'd like an S15, but...those are japanese only. I'm not paying all the money for a grey market conversion.

If I ever get $400,000, I'll buy either a house, or a Saleen S7...Nothing is cooler than Nitrox..

Re: Because I do this everywhere, the Cars thread.

S7 was going for the Fastest Production Car In the World record, and just missed it.

Koniggsegg CC8S just hit it. Unseated the McLaren F1 not too long ago... Plus it's really, really gorgeous.

Yeah I read about that not too long ago. Really sad to see the German Masterpiece dethroned. Oh well at least we still have the unbeatable Audi R8. Now that is a true masterpiece.

On and right now I drive a Lexus LS400. Actually I've just got enough money to repaint it. It is a 90', but everyone I know thinks it is no older than four years. The person who owned it before me took excellent care of it.

Re: Because I do this everywhere, the Cars thread.

Trucks are my thing.

Got a '96 Ford F-350, 4x4 XLT 351V8. Things a beast. Technically it's my dad's, but since it's so horrible on gas, he rarely drives it. I love it though, so I wouldn't mind paying for the gas to drive it when I get my license this November.

Re: Because I do this everywhere, the Cars thread.

I own a 1995 Buick Skylark Custom, nothing too special but it works. But my dream would be to own a 1967 Mustang Shelby GT500. I own like 40 toy versions of them but I doubt that is good enough.

Re: Because I do this everywhere, the Cars thread.

I've got a 1996 Ford Ranger. It's a 5-speed and a single cab, but it's awesome on gas.

Ideally, I'd like to have a big 4X4 to play around in the mud with. I would damn love to have that truck your dad has, Capn. That would be ideal for me to put a lift on and put some 44" mud boggers on. Throw in some super-low gears and it'll pull the tires like they were stock and probably get better gas mileage to boot. Put on a black brush guard, get a Warn winch, and you could bog through mud five feet deep.

If I couldn't have a truck like that, I'd like an 80's model Bronco fixed up with the same stuff. It'd work for me. ^^

McLaren was British, technically...but BMW made the engine...so, that car's a mut anyway. We'll accept German as one of the nationalities.

LS400, huh? Lexus is alright, but it IS a Toyota. I'm a Nissan/Infinit guy. I'd kill for a G35 coupe... Rebadge it back to it's JDM, Nissan Skyline 350GT. It'd be hot.

Re: Because I do this everywhere, the Cars thread.

I drive my parents' 1995 Chrysler Intrepid.

I honestly hate cars for existing -- the invention of the automobile is largely responsible for current disgusting city planning, and many of the environmental problems now affecting us, as far as I'm concerned.

I hope to live downtown when I get my own place, walking and bussing everywhere. I walk and bus as it is most of the time, but I still had to get my license for whatever reason.

Your hatred is my passion. I will keep pouring liquid dinosaur into my tank until the day I die. I simply live for car and motorsports.

Are you certain that there will be any liquid dinosaur left the day you die? You're young -- suppose you live another 60 or 70 years. There's concern over lessening supply of oil now, causing increased prices. Without dramatic decreases in consumption, I wouldn't count on the oil being there forever.

I don't actually mind the idea of personal transport so much -- hyrbrid cars are wonderful as a step in the right direction, as are fuel cells, hydrogen cars, and electric cars. The reliance to drive from point A to point B to point C all within about 2 kilometres (thank you suburban city planners) does bug me, however.

You don't need to put a lift on a truck that has a factory lift. And a nice one at that.

If he lets me, I'm going to put a brush guard on it, but it would have to be one easily detachable since we use the truck to plow our insanely long and nasty driveway in the winter.

Re: Because I do this everywhere, the Cars thread.

I drive a 2001 Volkswagon Jetta. It's black, leather interior and I'm fixing to put a new sound system in it (It doesn't even have a CD player!) Though it gets pretty good gas/diesel mileage. (Gets about 30 miles to the gallon) Here's a pic of what it looks like.

Edit: Gah, I can't find a decent pic of my car. I'll take one of it sometime or another.

I'd probably have to lift it to put the size tires I'd want to on! Not to mention cutting the fender wells so you'd be able to turn them. Oo;;

I really don't know of any brush guards that come off easily though. If you had a bull bar, you might be able to attach the snow plow around it. I've never seen a snow plow installed on a truck since I live in the south so that might not work at all.

I don't really care too much, all I care about is right now. Alternate fuels are so flawed it's not even funny.

Alternative fuel cars aren't performance cars, so like I said. I'm going to stick with the old standard.

I'm not getting into a debate about alternate fuels. If you want to debate that, go somewhere else. This would be the auto-enthusiaists thread, not a debate on how long oil reserves will last.
