Exclamation Unsupported Video Card

Well, I just bought Counter-Strike Source today, and I installed it. Now when I try to play it this message come's up saying:
Your video hardware does not meet the minimum requirment's that we have set for the game. If you choose to continue and run the game anyway, you could have probelm's with stability or performance in the game. We strongly recommened that you follow the link below and update your video drivers to the latest version available from your driver vendor.
Your drive detail's:
Window's version: Windows XP
Description: Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller
Version:6.14.10.3666

Show minimum requirement's...
That's what it said, I went to that link it gave me, but it didn't really help. Can someone please help me.

Re: Unsupported Video Card

well, it appears it wants you to update your drivers for your videocard. Go to the main website for whatever brand video card u have, look for your model, and get the latest drivers. Not hard. Also it could be that your card is older so it wont play this game.

Re: Unsupported Video Card

So what is your graphics card? As Far as I can see you might have an On-board graphics card.

Have you played any other 3D Games? And where did you buy your computer from?

Re: Unsupported Video Card

Last time I checked, Intel integrated graphics do not have the latest DirectX support. You will need to fork out some cash for a new graphics card.

Re: Unsupported Video Card

...integrated graphics? Blech. You, sir, need to find yourself a new video card. I'd search NewEgg for something nice, and if you're on a budget, you can definately find something good enough there. If you're not on a budget, you can pick yourself up a nice higher-line card like a 6600GT for around $150. Or you could go completely insane and get... a 7800GTX for 600 bucks.

As for me, I'm going completely insane. I found it for $530, though!

Looking back, my parents are cheap little <insert bad word here>, so it's understandable. The ONLY reason I can get such an expensive card is because: It has to last me three years. My father is interested in it, because it is a card that can power his entire home theater. He LOVES his home theater, so anything that can produce true high def is somehing he wants. I think when I go to college he plans to take the card and use it for himself.

To be insane over here in New Zealand... $600 bucks would be cheap for a 7800GTX...
Cheapest 7800GTX is $927.00.... Cheapest 6600GT is $264... =P

And yes, I say you go for a MSI NX-6600GT-TD128E...Its an awesome card and you get 14 CDs of bundle with it

But before you do anything, Check what motherboard you have... See if it has a AGP or PCI-Express 16X slot...If you have AGP your still in luck.

But if you are unlucky and have some crappy 1.3Ghz and no AGP slot, You will have to buy a whole new computer to play any new FPS games =P

Re: Unsupported Video Card

That's almost like playing CS on a laptop. Lol.... High-end graphic cards are so expensive these days. I just hope they would drop the price even further. Radeon x800 Pro costs like $500+ CND.

Re: Unsupported Video Card

Well, with the recent release of nVidia's 7800GT (Not GTX >.>) means that the 6600GT will most likely drop in price. Around $60/£50 in price.

Re: Unsupported Video Card

What expansions slots does your motherboard support? PCI, AGP, PCI-e? My computer is a piece of crap that only uses PCI, but I have a mediocre card that supports Direct X7 that costed ~$35.

Re: Unsupported Video Card

you have onboard graphics. In short, you do not even have a graphics card. buy a graphics card before you complain. you can pick up a card that can play source for under 100$, my friend himself has a rather outdated card and computer and it can stil play source.

Re: Unsupported Video Card

Psh. A $500 Radeon? Not even worth it, specially since the Geforce 7 series is out now. The high end ATi card is a X800XT I think, but don't quote me on it.

I can play HL:2 and CS:S at a reasonable 30FPS on average with my Geforce 4 MX 420, which is quite old now.
