My Family's Bigger than Your's :P

This thread took me too long to make...

Anyways, my sister got married almost two months ago, and it was a bueatiful reception and all, and her husband is someone I've known know for most of my life, and he's just an awesome guy.

But here's what I find most interesting about their marriage. You see, my sister is only my half-sister. My dad was married to another woman before he met my mom *who was never with anyone before she met him*, and with her my dad had my half-sister. Well, things didn't go too well, and they got divorced. My dad met my mommy, and his wife found another guy* then soon I was born! yay! Joy to the world!*

Now, technically I was already related to my sister's mom and step-dad's families before my sister got married. Very distant aunts and cousins mind you, but still related. Anyways, now with this marriage, her I'm technically to her husband's familes. So, with this, it's like I almost have six different familes. My dad's side, my mom's side, my sister's mom's side, my sister's dad's side, her husband's mom's side, and her husband's dad's side.

I find it hilarious, because of course, they aren't very close relations *like, 10th cousins twice removed kinda crap* but I'm still related to them now. And my family *brother, mom, dad family* including me have been getting along with them all greatly. I mean, ever since the marriage thing started coming along, my dad's ex has been extremley nice to us all *notably me and my brother* and her husband is just an awesome guy. So, because of this marriage, they united all these people into one giant, happy family!!

Wow, that's complicated.

But if you're gonna go to 10th cousins and stuff, i think i win.
My great grandmother on my dad's side had eight kids. Each of which had at least 3 kids, one had 6. And all of that generation had a kid or two, as many as 8.
My great grandmother on my mom's side had five kids, and she herself was one of six children.
So when my mom's family meets (anually) for a family reunion, there are usually four to five hundred and we fill up a massive church auditorium.
And that's just my mom's side.

Wow, that is big. I think I have the smallest family. I have like 10 cousins on both my mom's and dad's side. And I'm only close with 4 of them. I had an uncle but he died. And I have a half aunt who I have never met. I also have a few cousins and aunts who are scattered all over Germany. I have never met any of them. When something special is going on like a wedding, birthday, mothers day, Christmas, etc. the only people I see are my two grandmothers, my great grandmother, and my evil step grandfather. Occasionally I will see more people. Both my grandfathers are dead. Its a very small family.

My mom has 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

My dad had 4 brothers and two sisters (two sisters and a brother now deceased).

That means a lot of cousins. Many of my cousins also have kids of their own.

I have a huge number of blood-relatives. Every now and then I meet another cousin whom I wasn't at all aware of before.

My dad has seven siblings overseas(an additional male passed away some time ago while another four died in childbirth) currently. I think the total numbers up to about thirty cousins. *shrug*

My mother has nine siblings. I have twenty one cousins on her side, I beleive.

Probably not as big as your family, but eh-- I think it's sizable.

Well, my dads side of the family has 2 sisters and 2 brothers. My moms side of the family also has 2 sisters and 2 brothers, though one of them is dead now. This means of course, many cousins and relatives. However most of them I do not know and thus, feel lost.

Just on my mom's side, she has 13 siblings. Each with at least 3 kids, except one aunt who got married to late and can't have children. The most in one family is 8. Then, 1 of my cousin, is going to have another child. That's the second one for him. Also another one of my cousin is getting married like in a year. Then there are some aunts and uncles I haven't even met. On my dad's side, he has 4 brothers. Including my self that is. 14 children. Four of them are just as good as married. I guess that's it.

in the end werw all related. born from the very first two humans. that came from the very firs two apes and it keeps going back. or if your religious (chatholic) lke i am were all born from Adam and Eve. either way were all related.

anyway my familys really small like 6 cousins that i know. were all very close though

I'm not going to get into a lot of detail, but for my fifteen birthday (big deal to Spaniards), there were 89 people, all somehow related, and that was just half of those invited. And then, there was the large portion we don't like and weren't invited. And, I'm constantly meeting new people that I'm somehow related to.

I have a small family. That's alive. Here's how it is.
Grandma (Grandpa died), dad, an aunt, another aunt, two uncles from the same aunt, two cousins on my dad's side.
Grandma, Grandpa, mom, aunt, uncle, uncle, aunt, a cousin on my mom's side. So that's only 16 people. There's probably more people that I just don't know. =P

Well, you beat me, heh. You sort of lost me on the beginning of the third paragraph, but a few more read through's got me back in touch with reality ... er, at least I think it did. My family is small ... and much more peaceful =P

Mirren, I can only wait for you to marry your cousin on some family from your step-dad's mom's great aunts's husband's grandaughter's neice.

My family is big as well. My mother has a brother and sister, and my step-mother has two brothers.
Now, my dad, he has four brothers, and three sisters, and all married. So you can imagine how many cousins I have got... About 31 cousins, whom I hardly see because they live on the other side of the world. >.>

That's a big, confusing family you've got there, Mirren. I've got a very confusing family of my own though.

Alrighty, I have one brother. My parents divorced and got remarried so now I've got two step-brothers and one step-sister. One step-brother is from a previous marriage of my step-dad and another step-brother and step-sister are from a previous marriage of my step-mom. Well, my mom and step-dad had a child here a few years ago so I've also got a half-brother.

My mom has three sisters and one brother. The three sisters and brother have 14 children between them all (And some of them have been divorced and remarried and then pregnant again by the way Oo;; ). Some of the children of mom's sisters have their own children now. My father has one brother so that's pretty simple.

What do you think about that? Christmas gets pretty hectic.

Dude thats alot of familes and really really confusing...

But yes I also have a pretty big family... Mainly because my Granddad has 8 or 9 brothers and sisters... and my Grandma came from a massive family, and all of them are in England. And not to mecation all my cousins, uncles and aunts I have here in New Zealand (My Moms side)

But STILL. Same thing with the parents and all.
