A hilarious moment - caught on tape.

We all have those "wish we had our camera" moments. Well, what happens when you actually DO have your camera? AND equipped with a video recorder?

This is what happens.

The backstory: We work at a summer day camp. The camp holds an event, entitled "Meadowbrook Idol", for the name of the camp, Meadowbrook. It's a completely crappy talent show. So we decided to make it more crappy.

Four counselors would dress themselves up as girls and dance to the song, "It's Rainin' Men". The original idea was to have it complete with skirts and all, but that turned out to cost too much. So they wore pajamas, which is almost girlish. They recruited girls from other groups to dress up as boys and dance in the background, as well as grab water guns and shoot them at the crowd of children to emulate rain. The entire horrible hilarious performance was caught on tape by me, today.

The performers wish to have copies of the film given to them.

Some interesting tidbits:

From left to right, the names of the people in ponchos are: Mike, Jon, Charles, and Dave.

Dave was the only one wearing short shorts. Why? Earlier during the day he had been offered to wear short shorts for the show, and with a ton of peer pressure (and a few bribes), accepted. Unfortunately... these were Charles' sister's shorts. As soon as he handed over his own shorts to Charles' sister, his shorts were no longer his anymore. The pants didn't come back to him, and he was forced to wear short shorts - all day long.

Dave: "It feels like I'm wearing nothing."
Girl: "Welcome to our world."
Dave: "Yeah, but you do it by choice."

And Charles, despite his pointing out that every unbrella needed to be facing the right way for the acronym (MCDC, which stands for Meadowbrook Country Day Camp) to look correct, inevitably ended up facing his umbrella wrong, and made his D look backwards. He didn't notice until he saw the video.

Charles: "It looked fine from my end."

It turns out the group practiced with two different versions of the song. Near the end, the group had no clue what to do, because one group practiced with the 70's version, and the other with the 80's. The 80's version, apparently, was playing.

Now... my aim for this fun little video is to get it around the internet to places such as Newgrounds, College Humor, and any other place you can think of. I'm sure it won't make it into most of them, but it's worth a shot.

COMPUTER....SO....SLOW...
FILE....SO....BIG....
For some reason, I didn't get any visual when it finally loaded. However, my imagination coupled with your description and managed to supply some pretty interesting stuff to accompany the music...

Oh, well. It appears I won't receive the opportunity to be scarred for life...
