Getting a Zelda tattoo Friday

Looks like this, only pure black. Will be top and center of my back, wings on the shoulder blades and triforce right below my neck in the center. My appointment is for Friday, I'll take pics and post them the next day when I take the bandages off. It's going to be about 7 inches horizontally and 4 inches vertically.

What do you guys think?

EDIT: finished pics on page 4

Cool I'm going to use my girls camera to take pics of during, after, and when it's healed.

Re: Getting a Zelda tattoo Friday

I think that will make a pretty awesome tattoo. Even for people who are not familiar with the Legend of Zelda, it's going to look like a really cool tribal tattoo.

It looks very, very good to me. I like tribal myself. If I were to ever get a tattoo that was related to the game I would get that one.

So, excellent choice. ^^

Yea the original idea to get this started almost two years ago... I couldn't find the "right" look for the triforce with the tribal bird. I gave up the search after 4-5 months. Then my dad asked me what I wanted for my birthday... I blurted out "that damn zelda tattoo I've always wanted"... so thus I began a search... I found this in seconds, kept looking for a few days and NOTHING topped this, it's pretty bad ass (in my mind)

And like you said... those who don't know zelda can still appreciate the look of it.

The biggest key factor in my wanting this tattoo is to represent: Power, Wisdom, And Courage. That holds true in my everyday life, overall I don't think I'll regret it. Specially cause it's not just a spur of the moment tattoo... I've wanted it for more then two years (I was going to get it right after my 18th b-day, I turn 20 sunday)

I personally would not tatoe myself, it costs money and in time you may regret it. it would be better to spend the hundred or so dollars on something practical, say a new computer motherboard so you can upgrade to hell and beyond or an investment so your money can escalate upon itself. That is just my opinion.

How can I be lost
In remembrance I relive
And how can I blame you,
When it's me I can't forgive?

I share the same thought as Star Boy here. :3
It will look very very nice once it is done. I could only imagine that it might be a tattoo that may take two sessions or so to complete. Whatever you do, don't make the tattoo artist rush... the last thing you want to do is go in for a large quick tattoo, and have it turn out bad... you are left with that on your back for the rest of your life, for the most part.

Well, a tattoo is really something else than upgrading your motherboard. It's got a special feeling with it, and is very satisfying. The main reason is to show other people 'look I got a tattoo, and i'm fan of the zelda series' (my thoughts at least)
A tattoo would be just great. It's like a tribute to a great series, and well, it's just something special imo

Re: Getting a Zelda tattoo Friday

I've already got a nice computer, I don't see the point in upgrading anymore. It's not about the money, I have plenty in the bank... It's about the meaning and look.

It's going to cost about $225-$250 (although I'm not even paying, it's a gift from my dad) and take up to 2 1/2 hours, not to bad of a price or time period. My dad has a tattoo that took almost 19 hours to complete, sessions were 4 to 5 hours long each time.

Meh, while I am inclined to say that really kicks ass, I also must say I myself dislike tattoos. In general I don't really see the point, but in this case yeah it looks really cool. It seems like you've thought this through, so I won't be a Jiminy Cricket.
Have fun. I'm sure it will turn out real nice.

Anyway, that is a very nice design--I've seen it before, too. Your dad must be a really nice guy. What's his tatoo of? hehe

Not really to clear on it. I know the main point is a deer skull, the antlers have an arrow going accross with a rock arohead and the feathers are red and black. There is some rock in the background with things in them like a lizard, a hawk skull, and some other stuff. It's pretty cool looking, not my cup of tea though. The best part is he's a huge hunter plus he designed it himself.

That is pretty cool looking though I would not ever get a tatoo.

Are you sure you want this? I mean.....if you get bored of it, you can't just change it.

Well, at least it'll make a great conversation starter!

Re: Getting a Zelda tattoo Friday

I can imagine that it will look very cool when it is done in all black ... but I've never been one for tattooes. I don't know why, but I hear that they put ink in your blood, somehow. Maybe thats not true ... but in any case, I don't think I will ever get a tattoo.
