Guns or Swords

me and my friends are always fighting over whether swords or guns are better... alright, alright, i do agree that guns are more effective, so i dont want a thousand responses saying that they are... but in any case i like swords better because it takes skill and stamina to weild one, guns you just point and shoot... with swords whoever is the better fighter will win but with guns whoever gets a lucky shot first will achieve victory... plus swords are fun to show off with! they just look so cool!!

IMO, swords are more honorable. Guns can kill you before you know what hit you, whereas swords are harder to do that with. Swords all the way.

Yeah I too like swords better. I also like guns though. I guess I'll take the star wars approach to this. I think that guns are a bit uncilized. I mean anyone can pickup a gun and pull the trigger. Where as a sword you have to know what your doing in order to win.

Guns, Makes warfare easier. But with swords less are killed. :/ I dont know. Swords probably, you cant have huge massarcres without anyone seeing your face :/ and it would be possible to be stopped..so...Swords.

I dont know, both weapons are cool and both have advantages and disadvantages. I own a sword and I also own a rifle, I suppose I prefer my sword even though it just sits there and does nothing.
Occasionally I will threaten my sister with it, thats about all its good for.

Swords. The fighting style with swords just looks so cool and I agree; the whole skill and stamina plus honour makes the sword better IMO. Although some guns are cool, but the ones I like don't exist.

Guns are cool, they make killing the fight shorter, but I definately prefer swords. I think they're just cool.

Thats only somthing a brother would do.

Anyways. A sword is alot more challengeing, and you 'learn' more from it. You dont learn athletisizm when you stick a bazooka in someones ear.

But actually, some guns do require strength to weild. Just the force of some guns may be to strong for some people to hold. I remeber i was 12 when i shot a paintball gun, and i was really surprised at the kick and force that it knocks back at you.

But a sword is much more primitive, yet more civilized. And besides, a gun is the easy way, i mean, you dont see mass murderers out and about killing people with a katana. Gun is just ya know, quicker.

Defiantly swords. They look good and you don't have to reload them!

Sword are just to old fashon for me.

I'll say swords because it's so much cooler than guns.. Win a fight with a sword takes more than with a gun and if you win it'll be a much greater victory.. I also think swords become a more personal item for the person who carries it than a gun is..

I think most people are going to go with swords 'cause this is a zelda site. I agree. I like to write stories about diferent things but there all have swords instead of guns. I like to write fantasy stories with dragons and magic! Theres no guns there!

Guns, because there much more cooler than swords. Sure, swords are sweet but you can't go wrong with a nice gun, perferbly an Ingram or SA80. Oh and anybody that says, 'guns take no skill to shoot!' need to have a pole hit over them. Lets see you fire a .50 sniper rifle at a target about 3 inches across 1000 yards away. Not easy, considering recoil and aming the damn thing, is it? (even though I never done it, it's pretty obvious by my example that guns take as much skill as a sword)

I like swords more, but guns also do require skill to use. It's not as easy as it looks when it comes to guns. Holding the gun steady, aiming, reloading - the majority of unexperienced people will have trouble doing all that. A person trained in the arts of guns has learned how to properly use a gun, but a civilian might simply not even be able to hold the gun steady when shooting.

With a sword, you have offensive and defensive power, whereas with a gun, you just have a very strong offensive power. Sure a gun is more effective (just aiming at a person and shooting), however, a sword needs a lot of diligance and practice to wield its power of offense and defense. With a gun, you also need to train with aiming, holding it and shooting it serenely without nervousness, however, there is not much of training with guns as there are with swords. A gun is for the more modern people who want to get their point across, whereas a sword is for the midevel type person who believes in an equal balance of offense and defense. I would go with a sword in most cases, however, there are also some instances where I prefer a gun (gun fights, etc.)

Swords are way better. I mean a two year old can kill with a gun. Can a two year old kill with a sword NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is why swords are better.

i'll take a gun, on two conditions:
1. it fires either bolt action or semi-automatic
2. it has a bayonet lug on it

You just proved that that guns don't suck, because they are easier to use, and thus more effective weapons, even with ****ty aim.

Guns. Why? The answer is simple. You see, I can shoot you from 20 feet away. You can not swing your sword and hit me from 20 feet away, unless you invested in one of those huge-ass swords that Cloud uses. In which case, I'd call you an idiot as you stumble around like an idiot (which I conveniently just called you) trying to lift up your metal paperweight, then shoot you in the face.
