Are proud of your ancestry?
Who are your ancestors? What are your origins? Do you have any interesting stories about your family?
On my mother's side, my grandfather is Irish nobility. I was told that the Pierce family was one of the most feared families in all of Ireland. My grandmother is a Ritchie. She has French nobility from the De Bayeu family and it is said that she has noble blood from the house of Tutor (Yes, english royalty, don't ask me how). Now time for my father's side. My father is Christian Lebanese (Which means we are not arab. We are originally Phoenicians, Mediterranean sea faring people). I was told by a geneologist that we must have Medicci in our blood line (The Mediccis were wealthier than most kings, thanks to them the Italian renaissance started) because we have their unique ears. I see very few people with earlobes like ours. We have small ears and our earlobes are connected to our heads. We also don't technically have earlobes. The girls in our family can get ear rings riped off easily. It's a trait from both side of my family, so the blood most run through my mother and father. The only story of an ancestor I know is that we should own the Monte de Lion hotel in New Orleans. It is a very beautiful hotel. My ancestor Jack Bayeu own the hotel, he was pushed into the Mississippi river. He drowned and the bank got it. One of my ancetors was an Irish sea captain. He had moved to Canada during the 1800s and married a Canadian women. They must have moved to Louisiana.

I'm related to Genghis Khan. I have "Tatar" and Mongolian ancestry. Most feared in all of Asia in the 1400's. There aren't too many of my kind left, though.

Re: Are proud of your ancestry?
I dunno much about my ancestors, except this:
My English ancestors lived in England during the times of the origin of the Church of England, and secretly refused to follow under King Henry the VII, and I think were part of an underground Catholic community. ...and my great-great grandfather often stole telegrams between FDR and his wife. My father now owns onw, legally. -SC

Re: Are proud of your ancestry?
Not much of a story behind my family I don't think. Though I do know how Irish people got their last names. Lets see, well, my Dad's side is the most Irish of both sides. My Great Grandfather was English, I don't know much about him. But I originated somewhere near the West side of Ireland. My ancestors were of the Galvin tribe (Which is my last name btw). Of course I believe their name would've been Gheal Bháin (sp?) (Irish for Bright White, which is totally true believe it or not, I'm white and bright!).
I should look up my ancestory, there wasn't much moving around though, my family originated here in Ireland, and that's where we are, except we're on the East side .

My parents are all in to this ancestry thing, it's pretty cool Yes, I'm the 36th great-grandson of Charlemagne, and a few other kings and queens, mostly of Frankish rule. I'm 1/4th Viking, On my father's side, and my grandma on my mother's side claims that we're German. I believe her, I've made observations of her ancestry. My ancestry on my father's side goes all the way to King of Britians Heli. I think it's awesome to be related to all sorts of royalty.

Re: Are proud of your ancestry?
All I know is that on my father's side, my ancestors were kicked out of Russia for being Jewish and came here, and that on my mother's side, my grandparents left Jordan to have a better opprotunity for life here.
Don't think I'm descended from royalty or anything, though. How blah. |

Re: Are proud of your ancestry?
I'm a descendant of my father, that's all I know really.
I don't really have a rich family history. My fathers family was poor and lived in an industrial region and my mother's family was relatively rich (compared to my father's). That's all I know. E: Oh, I'm from The Netherlands btw, but you could read that in my profile. I'm from the Eastern parts, near the border with Germany.

Re: Are proud of your ancestry?
Um, I am practically all Scott, but there is more to it than me just being Scottish. My dad's great great great...ect..ect..grandmother (somewhere in the 1700's i think) was related to a Scottish Pirate named Captin Kidd. Ya, he is real, and it makes sense that I am scottish, because Im related to a Scottish pirate. But he was a pretty famous pirtate i think, so i guess I have got that 'blood thirsty' pirate in me....>_> Eh, so ya. Im related to a Scottish pirate....
![]() here is some stuff on him for you history buffs out there.. http://www.maritimehistory.info/pira...tain-Kidd.html

Re: Are proud of your ancestry?
I don't know much about my ancestry, I just know my mom's side is pure Japanese, and my father's side includes Native American (from around the area of Brazil), Brazilian, Portugese, German, English, and Polish. And of course, I was born in America, and so was most of my dad's side that is still living, so I'm also part American.
My deceased grandmother from my father's side used to claim we were related in some way to Abraham Lincoln, from her side, but since she wasn't exactly in her right mind, we never knew if we should believe her or not. That's about it for famous people I could be related to.

Re: Are proud of your ancestry?
Heh, my mothers side is related to Vlad the Impalier. If you don't know who he is, he is Dracula. In a sense, I'm related to him.
![]() As far as my ancestry goes, I am a mutt. My dads side is Irish, Welsh, Scottish, Italin, and Shoshone. My moms side is German, Romanian, and Russian. My dads side of the family expalns my dads tannish skin seeing as he's part Italian, which derives from his mom (now deceased)

Re: Are proud of your ancestry?
Can't say I'm all too proud of my ancestry seeing as I know nothing about it.
Father's side: My grandmother is Swedish, grandfather is Italian. Mother's side: My grandmother is German, grandfather Lebanese. All four are mixed up pretty well, making me a classic example of the American mutt. I rather hate being a mutt, my family knows little of our ancestry or the languages of said countries. The only one who did, my 100% Lebanese grandfather who came here from Lebanon, died long before I even knew he was fluent in Lebanese as well as French and German. Every day I wish my parents would have exposed me to him more, I'd have loved to learn a foreign language like that at a young age.

Re: Are proud of your ancestry?
I am related to someone who signed the magna carta, we think that we are distantly related to Billy the kid and a second cousin of mine was the tail gunner on the enola gay. For those of you that don't know, the enola gay was the airplane that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima
