Yeah, I haven't really played with Legos in awhile. They're awesome, but I just don't have as much of a collection here at my mom's house as my dad's. He has a huge Storage Bin full of them, about 3 feet long, 1 wide, and 1.5 deep. I loved building things with them. When I was in...2nd grade, my dad spent weeks building me a huge ship out of them. About 3 feet long, filled with weapons racks, spear guns, racks for spears to reload the guns, a working Rudder (not one that is in the instructions, this one actually looked good and didn't fall off easily.) two huge levels, belowdeck and abovedeck, a two story cabin, which had hinges so you could tip it open to see the second floor inside or the first floor, plenty of crewmen, it was beautiful. I decided to take it apart after a year.
I loved designing new weapons for it too. The "spearguns" I mentioned may not have been familiar. Those are made by combining a...eh, I don't have the words to explain what the pieces are. I'll attach pictures later. Also, if any of you had those pirate ships with the three-part masts, we used the bottoms for cannons, with the proper hinge pieces.
I suppose Legos haven't really been so much fun anymore, though. All these custom parts make it too easy nowadays, and you don't get that sense of accomplishment when you build something. But it's still difficult to make new things. I might show off some pictures of things when I visit my dad this summer. Six weeks should be plenty of time to take a few photos
