Old toys that you still play with or like.

Inspired by the little chat in #zelda right now, this thread is about old toys that you play with still or have loved but don't play with. As for me, theres only one toy that I have played with since I was 7 or 8, and thats Legos. I dunno what makes these so damn fun to play with, but it's the only toy that I frequently play with up to this day. It' so fun to build and destroy whole Lego, buildings, civlizations, ships whatever. I think thats what makes it fun there.

Re: Old toys that you still play with or like.

Oh man. I haven't played with my legos in months. I need to do that one of these days, those are the ultimate toy. Nobody is too old for Legos.

Hmm. Well, every now and then, I pull out my old electric train set. I used to play with that thing all the time. I'd make little towns... out of Legos, and have the train stop at all of the places. Dealing with derailings. Having bean-bag animals attack. All tht kind of stuff. Nowadays, when I play with it it;s usually just making a track, nothing else. Still fun, though.

I've got a really old slot-car track, too. I've messed around with that a few times.

I also like a few older toys of mine. Stuffed animals. :3
I've got this humongous fish that I sleep with. A penguin, too. Come to think of it, I've got about 20 stuffed penguins, I've always liked those little guys. Only one in particular gets the honor of being on mah bed, though. Oh, I have this chicken too, but it's not really old. I got it from my mother on Easter last year.

Re: Old toys that you still play with or like.

Yeah, I haven't really played with Legos in awhile. They're awesome, but I just don't have as much of a collection here at my mom's house as my dad's. He has a huge Storage Bin full of them, about 3 feet long, 1 wide, and 1.5 deep. I loved building things with them. When I was in...2nd grade, my dad spent weeks building me a huge ship out of them. About 3 feet long, filled with weapons racks, spear guns, racks for spears to reload the guns, a working Rudder (not one that is in the instructions, this one actually looked good and didn't fall off easily.) two huge levels, belowdeck and abovedeck, a two story cabin, which had hinges so you could tip it open to see the second floor inside or the first floor, plenty of crewmen, it was beautiful. I decided to take it apart after a year.

I loved designing new weapons for it too. The "spearguns" I mentioned may not have been familiar. Those are made by combining a...eh, I don't have the words to explain what the pieces are. I'll attach pictures later. Also, if any of you had those pirate ships with the three-part masts, we used the bottoms for cannons, with the proper hinge pieces.

I suppose Legos haven't really been so much fun anymore, though. All these custom parts make it too easy nowadays, and you don't get that sense of accomplishment when you build something. But it's still difficult to make new things. I might show off some pictures of things when I visit my dad this summer. Six weeks should be plenty of time to take a few photos .

Re: Old toys that you still play with or like.

Hmmm old toys I have/play with? Well the only toy I actually play with nowadays is my GBA and GC (if you want to consider them as toys...or just simply entertainment systems). But as for toys I have but don't play with...not many. I have a stuffed teddy bear that I had since I was like four years old. I have two Stuffed Bert & Ernie dolls (would you call it a doll?). I don't have anymore toys (yes it's sad). I was such a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan when I was younger. I got rid of all my toys when I was thirteen I believe (of course all my baby toys were gone back then, but the action figures I had were given away to charity). Ever since then I just started to play with "Big Toys": Gameboys, SNES, Nerf Footballs...which is a toy, but I kept it, etc... Now that stage of my life has (sorta) passed. I still play my Nintendo games, but new games come along: Computers, Cars (don't have one, but I like them), Cellphones (don't have one, but I like them), Stereos, T.V./VCR/DVD, etc. The toys I play nowadays are all electronic

Re: Old toys that you still play with or like.

Ah...the memories. Well, I gotta say that I too was a fan of legos/lincon logs and all that stuff.

But as far as some that i still 'play' with are two of my only and prized stuffed animals. I got one when i was really young, and it was a small black and white cat. It was only about 10 in long, and he was squished kinda, sorta flat. So because of that, i named him flat cat. He is dirty and old, but i love him.

And i have my other animal, that is a white tiger. He too, is dirty and old, and i named him in honor of "Hobbes" from the comic strips. And boy, let me tell you, I take Hobbes with me wherever, and me and my friends get ALOT of fun out of him....lol.....i could say what we do, but it just wouldnt seem that funny to you guys.

So ya. Those are my toys, but i didnt really have many when i was young, i was always getting my hands into some kinda dirt. When I was about 6 this little boy would come over to my house and say with a lisp, "Can Amanda come and catch'th li'th'ards withhh me? And so ya, i caught rollie pollies and those kinda things.

But why am I saying all of this? Eh..guess its just those memories down memory lane..ok..that was cheesy.

Meh. You can play with your Legos. But will any of you have a TIRE SWING???? AHAHHAHA! *Coughs* Yes. I have played on my tire swing since I was six. Only change was to get a bigger tire.

Tire swings are best. But my job has kinda changed from riding the swing to pushing people on it. But its pretty fun... pushed them so hard once the rope broke and they crash landed into the grass. Funny as hell.

But other than that, I have my college room decorated with all by precious Ninja Turtles action figures. I'm sorry, but there is nothing better.

Woo.

I still like my legos, and will take them out every once in a while, but I will never get rid of my action figures! They just have some sentimental value to me, I actually still have a Buzz Lightyear from a long time ago also for some reason. And I always wanted a tire swing but never got one, hmmpf.

Re: Old toys that you still play with or like.

I love Legos! I think the best thing about them is you don't have to keep one certain thing. You can build all sorts of stuff with them and that makes them still alot of fun today. When I was a kid, my favorite theme was the pirates.

I actually have some of the Knights' Kingdom Legos. So what if I'm a 21 year old male who plays with toys? I've just got an active imagination I suppose. ^^

I still love all my beanie babies, those things are really beat up. I used to play with them all the time and my collection well reaches into the 70s. I used to have wars between my beanie babies and my dinosaurs or my brother's attack packs. I bet I still remember all of their names.

Legos = amaZing! I'll still sit down sometimes for about and hour or so and construct random stuff. I was so awesome at legos as a kid, and I'll definately get them for my kids!!
Other toys/games would be Sorry and old school computer games like Bricklayer.

Yeah, Lego's great. Sadly, we haven't got any anymore.

Old toys that I've still got and love...not all that much, really. I've got a stuffed dog I've had as long as I can remember, as well as a few other stuffed animals animals that aren't quite so old. As for old toys I still play with...

I think I'll pass on that one.
