Contacts, Glasses, or Neither?
Ow, ouch, ow ow!! Oooooh...
I just got contacts. Gass permeables. The hard plasticy kind that hurt like heck. I wore them for just a few minutes earlier today, and my eyes are still red, and its night. It's paaaaiiiiinful. I used to have soft contacts, but those hurt worse. They gave me the wrong brand or something. Stupid doctors. Anyway, the pointless question of this thread is whether you wear glasses (which I like soooo much better than contacts), contacts (which I hate), or you just have 20/20 vision (I'll kill you). Just curious. Ooooouuuuuch!!! Ouch!! |

Re: Contacts, Glasses, or Neither?
I've actually got both. I had contacts for a long time and I kept constantly having problems with them so I got a new pair of glasses about two months ago.
I like glasses so much better. My contacts would always somehow get a hair or a piece of fuzz or something on them before I put them in and my eyes would burn and hurt all day long.

Re: Contacts, Glasses, or Neither?
Me? I got glasses when I was 6 months old. Major eye problems. About two years ago I got contacts n' I love em. ^___^ But of course, right now they're 2 months old so I gotta change em. >.<

Re: Contacts, Glasses, or Neither?
I dont were glasses.I have perfect vision!bring it on miniblin!
contacts obviosly hurt people.I had a friend and his contact slipped behind his eye and he had to go to the hospital. But glasses......what if they break and the glass goes in your eye.So perfect vision is probably best to have.......

Re: Contacts, Glasses, or Neither?
ARGH! I wrote a big long reply and just when I finished it my internet had a problem and had to shut down. I'll try and write everything I wrote before.
I got my first pair of glasses a few weeks ago! It's soooooo great! I LOVE having glasses! It's like having life in high-definition! I've never tried contacts and probably never will, because with the type and intensity of eye problem I have I'd have to wear the hard, uncomfortable kind. My oldest brother has better than 20/20 vision. His is like 20/16 or something like that. ![]() |

Re: Contacts, Glasses, or Neither?
20/20
Yea. Well sometimes I wonder if I'd look better in glasses, but getting one with just like regular glass seems kind of pointless. Also, if I were to have eye problems in the future I wouldn't get contacts because I hate having to put things in my eye. I like freak out even if I just have to put like drops or something in them. |

Re: Contacts, Glasses, or Neither?
For me, I wear glasses to see things far away (I basically wear them 24/7, though). There are two major advantages to wearing glasses for me. One is that it makes me look more respectable (less cool, perhaps, but hey...hehe). The other is that there are some advantages to being able to take off your glasses quickly--there are just SOME THINGS you would be better off NOT seeing clearly...heh.
Science Lesson: For those of us who read a lot growing up, most of our vision problems (shortsightedness) resulted because our eyes saw these small little things on a page and said to the brain, "Hey! Something's not right, here!!!" So Mr./Ms. Brain sends out hormones to the eyes, which enlongate the eyeball. Problem is, there is no "reverse enlongation" hormone.

I think I have 20/30 vision, but I don't wear glasses or contacts.

Re: Contacts, Glasses, or Neither?
No idea what my vision is, but I do know that I am myopic enough to supposedly need them for driving and distance reading. Of course, I don't have glasses or contacts because the former looks bad on me and the latter because I don't like sticking foreign objects in strange orifices.
