Woo! So its like St Patty's day here in the big land of OZ! Dunno about you other peeps. I hope you are all wearing your green clothing. Yay!

So this thread is just for me wondering what you guys are doing to celebrate the great St. PAtty. Woo. TELL ME.

I'm having a great time right now... onto my 4th Scotch, gonna go to a college Trivia Night then onto the pub for me, to shout all my buds a Guinness. TO BE SURE TO BE SURE! Ay! Leprechauns and all that.

Haha, anyway, I am probably going to Bennigan's because they have the best cookies on St. Patrick's day. I do not know if I will be wearing green today, but I'll certainly try. We usually do not do much for this holiday.

well... plan on drinking very heavily tonight althought i dont drink at all any other day. Me and some friends are throwin a lil party. Lots of girls. Lots of Liquor. Lots of Buds. (only a few of u will know wat i mean there). It just sucks that i have to b at work in like 20 mins. and i dont get of till 7. but its party time after that

I'm Irish. One of the few I say. Also, people you're getting it all wrong. It's not "Patty's day" it's "Paddy's Day". Seeing how this is really where it originated, you should know that you're really over-doing it. St. Patrick's Day is a small holiday, and shiuldn't be a big drinking night and such. People wearing Green is crazy. Only a few people wear green here. And that's just a small Green white and Orange hat. There's one guy who died his Afro green though.

What I did was, I went down to the parade (Advertisment galore), it lasted 1 hour and a half, and it was really boring. Then I hung around down town with people, we went to the harbour and to the Park and stuff. Then we all went home. It was a great day, seemed like it was Summer, strange, how it's always Sunny on St. Patrick's Day. Though, God all of the litter wrecked everything.

PS. Work in Ireland, eh? Well make sure you don't go into Computery stuff. My Dad was moving job to job doing that, because they all close down in like a year.

Just got back from the parade and it is minus a million degrees outside and my mother got drunk and put on red lipstick and kept running up and kissing paradely people. Now we are sitting around and waiting for my family to come over and we are making Irish-type food.

In Savannah, St. Patrick's Day is a big deal because everyone here is Irish. So there's a giant parade and things like that.

I don't understand why foreigners dress up green, while the Irish themselves don't. Also, the irish themselves don't drink as much.

It's for the same reason that on Canada Day the rest of the world drinks maple syrup.

I agree with the Irish person - foreign people seem to make way too much of St. Patrick's Day. Was there even a single post on St. David's day? I don't think so. Did everyone go around wearing daffodils and eating leeks? No.

Basically, here on my college campus, people use it as an excuse to go out and get trashed. But I also have a lot of friends whose ancestry (sp?) is Irish, so they are filled with pride on St. Patricks day.

I didn't wear green today. I forgot what day it was. I shoved all away who dared pinch me, for it is the most inane tradition ever.

What are my plans for the day? I plan on working. Since I have to. Yay.
Oh, and when I come home, I can do math and english homework... at 1 am. -_-

I went to a St. Patricks day thinger at my grandparent's church this past Sunday, though, and it was great, save for one thing. They had a troupe of Irish men and women singing, dancing and playing the most awesome music (I happen to adore Irish folk music), but I could scarcely hear a damn thing they played. Everyone was talking in this enclosed dinner hall - everyone save for my dad and I (and probably a few others), who were trying to listen to them. I'd think that religious folk would be more courteous to thier guests, but I suppose not in that instance. Inconsiderate bastards.

God... so hungover. Ugh.

Well Patty's Day is over here. Went out to the pub and drank some Guinness last night, like I said I would, to be sure to be sure. Everyone was tryin to talk in an Irish accent... that ended up turning Scottish and Austrian-Weight-Lifter at times, heheheheh. Was really fun, the bits I remember. Then got back here.. and, posted one or two posts here *mental note: look for those* and passed out, yay!

Too bad I couldn't capture the moment
