Well, the first thing you should do is exercise it so it gets stronger and eventually there's no pain. Don't go over the limit though. You shouldn't strain yourself. Then after that just practice light pitches and you'll get better, little by little. It's happend to my friends.

I used to be a pitcher... well you can throw either way if you like but keep in mind that sidearm is alot more straining on your shoulder and you probably will have problems later on... if you have pain throwing overhead just lay off of it put ice on it and only throw wharmup distance cuz your muscles have to adapt and it might take a while and stuff so just kinda take it easy

Re: throwing a baseball

I've played baseball for 11 years, I'm a pitcher and a catcher. I know what you're talking about. Your best bet is to throw over the top (overhand), it gives you much more power because you can drive with your legs and much less strain on your upper arm.The only reason it doesn't hurt sidearm is because you're working different muscles when you throw that way. Here are my suggestions. You should ice after every practice and throw as much as possible, giving your arm some time to rest every now and then. Your arm will eventually get stronger and it will become much easier to throw. The pain will also subside the more you throw. After a couple weeks you should have no problem. You still might feel pain(I still do, just from overexerting my arm) if you throw past your arms limit. Keep it up and it will get better. Also try using your legs more when you throw, it will give you more power and less strain on your arm. Hope this helps. I love baseball and will answer any other questions you might have about it.

Re: throwing a baseball

Ok i'll try those, hope it works, thanks yall. I dont have anymore questions right now Brolik, but if I do i'll ask for your help. I love baseball too been playin for 6 years and I really need to work my arm more because last year I could throw line drives from 3rd to 1st (90 ft) with no trouble and this was on the first day of practice, but this year I could throw to 3rd to 1st but its kinda of a rainbow and my coachs have noticed the differents so i'll try yalls advice.

Re: throwing a baseball

You should never have thrown sidearm in the first place. Sorry if that sounded mean. But throwing that way can really screw your arm up. That may be a factor on why it was broken in the first place.
