Computer Rebooting, Getting EXTREMELY Annoying

OK, my compyter has been randomly rebooting with no warning. I get REALLY PO'd when I'm working in Photoshop, and my comp reboots. At least it doesn't get stuck like it does when we close the door on the comp case......Do you guys know why this is happening?

Re: Computer Rebooting, Getting EXTREMELY Annoying

Wow, that'ts strange. My guess it is a virus. Though I have no viruses on mine, my computer still manages to randomly turns itself on. I'm serious, I'll put it in sleep mode, and every now and then(mostly in the middle of the night, my luck) it will turn itself on. I would definetly check into a virus scanner, that is my theory why it might be crashing.

A thing that is really annoying is when your mouse gets disconnected with the computer and you have to dig around and re-connect it! (Speaking of which it just happened to me now)

You might see (if you have a surge protector) if the place where the cord and base join is a little loose. That happened to me once. You also might have some malfunctioning software that needs to be removed. Run some diagnostics or something. If all else fails, just call your computer dealer.
Nothing that can't be fixed!

Re: Computer Rebooting, Getting EXTREMELY Annoying

Minish Boy, I had the same problem last Summer. Whenever I used Photoshop, it would reboot. Sometimes, if no one is using it, it would randomly reboot itself. It got to a point that when it would reboot, it wouldn't turn back on. Even if you hit the power button, it wouldn't turn on either. The solution for it was that for a month we took the Network card in and out to turn it back on.

Two months later, my computer gave me this error that the Operating System has failed and and I couldn't log onto Windows. It would stay like that for hours, so I changed my Motherboard and Power supply. I had to reinstall Windows, and installing wouldn't get completed. My Uncle finally installed Windows with nLite, and during installing it gave me a warning that my hard dirve is screwed. But I installed Windows anyways, and my computer is working fine now.

If you don't want to lose any of your files on your computer, I suggest you do a backup now before your Windows stops working. Hopefully, your problem will not be as bad as mine.

Well I just wanna ask this before I put important stuff on a CD.....My browser has been running really slow lately. Is that a sign of my Windows screwing? Or is it IE that's screwing?

Eeeek! That sounds like a virus I got once. The computer just froze, so I restarted it and it wouldn't come back to life. =X We had to take it to a computer shop to get it fixed, but it is still screwy, so its in the closet. Thank goodness I can use my cousin's compy.

I don't like Norton. I heard creapy stuff about that scanner before.
I have McAfee and you can do a free scan here. I remembered now. When my Operating System failed, I called one of my friends who fixes computers. He said it could be that I have a virus. So, I don't know, scan it and see what happens.

One word: NO

Online or not, I'm not doing it. I don't feel like asking my dad if I can right now, and right now I don't really care it only does it every few days.
