Man, it's cold...

Yeah. It's about 10 degrees here in Buffalo, and of all days, my heater has to be turned off...

Basically, we smelled an odd odor all day, and it turned out to be the furnace burning collected dust that was inside it. We had a guy come to check it out, and he told us for safety to turn the whole thing off. Well, we did, and now it's we're in Buffalo, in the grip of winter. We have four heaters going, and my mom'll be taking me and my bro to our cousin's house to stay over. Hell, I may get off from school tomorrow...

I feel your pain Mirren. I recently moved to Albany and its freezing. Im wearing 5 shirts right now. No joke.

Something like that happened to me before, 2 winters ago our heater died on us, and it was about 5 degrees (Fahrenheit). My father wasn't living with us at the time, and since my mom is a homemaker, we didn't have the spare cash to stay at a hotel. It was already too late to ask to stay at someone's house, so that night we had to sleep in front of our fireplace to stay remotely warm. Luckily we had the problem fixed the next day. Bah, that night was horrible.

well here in california, yea you heard me, cali, its like what, 40-50 degrees, highs of up to 60, yeah thats nice... its never a true winter, more of like, an extended autumn

LOL. Yeah, I woke up this morning and was like d*** its freezing-it was about 55 degrees. *BURRRRR*Well there is a little cold front coming in-but we will soon go back to our 80 degree temp. soon.But sorry about your heater....you must be like eskimos.

Geez you guys (with warm weather)! These people are suffering enough with being how cold they are. You don't need to make it worse saying how great it is where you are...

But it really is nice here in California. The sun is shining and we get to wear T-shirts! Oh wait. I forgot what I said about not bragging about the wonderful warmth available in a few states. Well, oh well. Ha Ha! You guys with the below zero weather are really missing out! Sucks for you!

I think it was like -17 or something here today. Quite chili, but, being Canadian, I've grown used to it. But it doesn't mean I like it! And its not like I can stay home, since I have the lovely exams.....

Yes! Us Ontarians go through hell, but the Albertans go through a bit more as do the Yukon's. Damn I'm freezing, I'm in my basement without a heater, I had gym, ran 22 laps in 12 minutes (my gym is big) and then when we were done some guy decides to open the door and let cold air in...and I feel sick right now. Everything outside is ice, which is a little bit of fun because I usually spend the day sliding across the street....it's still freezing though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live in Georgia, and we haven't had any snow this year. I only wore my heavy coat once, and that was for an activity that I didn't participate in. Truly sad, this state here.

I used to live in New Jersey, and before that Nebraska. Three foot drifts...yeah, plenty of snow to go around. If I could pick a place to live, one of the Northern states would be it. *misses bundling up in layers of puffy coats and stuff*

We have had like -9 degrees celcius temperate for a week already. We got snow for four days, although they weren't heavy snow. Then the temperature rose to 11 degrees today, and we got heavy rain now, which washes away all the remaining cluster of snow.
