High School

Well, as most of you know, there comes a time in everyone's life where we must move on, and accept change. Well for me, change isn't too far ahead. Next year I start my first year of High School, and honestly, I'm pretty scared. Because all my friends are going to different schools, meaning I will know absolutely no one at my new school. I'm very comfortable at my school, I know like, all the kids, all the teachers, and I'm relatively cool, not popular, but cool. And I won't have that when I go to High School.

But that's not my big problem. My big problem is my girlfriend. Now, first off: I know I'm thirteen and too young for love and all that but whatever I feel for this girl, it is strong. And because of that: this is going to suck. She's going to a different High School, which isn't that far, but still I won't get to see her 5 days out of the week, I'll probably see her once in a blue moon. Her parents are pretty strict and, although they never met me, they already don't like me. So like, they probably won't allow her to come over and see my very often at all. And I guess, I'm just really going to miss her.

Overall: I fear change, I don't want things to change, I don't want to go somewhere where I know no one, and where my girlfriend isn't. And I just wanted to know what you guys thought, like suggestions to make it suck less or just comments, or whatever. Thanks ahead o' time.

dude I would so not worry about it, I was just like you.... like all skools you hate the first few days but you will fit in and make some friends... everything works out just face it...you will be fine

I feel ya buddy, im in year 10 in secodary collage (i think its high school in america, im in australia ) and im starting to think ahead of all the changes and im not liking them, but we cant do anything about it, and like V99 said everything will turn out fine in the end

Yeah. . .highschool. . .the one dreaded place I never want to enter. I am in 8th grade and I really like my middle school, though the high school doesn't sound very promising at all. My sister goes and hates it, and that's enough proof for me to think that I don't want to go to high school. Either that, or I am just a wuss.

This year was my first year in high school, but it is not so bad, the people are pretty nice (at least at my school). The worst thing that happened to me was when I got taped onto a pole. Every year they have whats called "freshman friday". They just play harmless pranks on the new kids. But its ok, except you acctually have to study for tests-you can't just wing them like in Elementary or Middle school.

I'm also a Freshman, and let me just say I hate the crap you get from upperclassmen. At the homecoming pep rally the seniors started up this chant, "FRESHMAN SUCK! FRESHMAN SUCK!" And it went on for like 3 minutes. Very humiliating. I hate being at the bottom of the barrel in school. Whenever you bump into an upperclassmen in the hallway he says something like "Watch it freshmen" like you're a dog or something. Just the plain amount of disrespect you get is discouraging.

As for your problem, you will definitely make friends in high school, just play your cards right and be cool, if you're a likable guy then you'll get some friends pretty soon. Look for people with similar interests, that's usually how friendships are made. I don't know what to tell you about your girlfriend, all I can say is keep in touch with her a lot (though that's probably a given), and try as hard as you can to arrange to meet her somewhere. It will be a lot easier to do when you both can drive, I'm sure. Good luck on seeing her.

High school is alright, its just boring and well...yeh boring when you look at the old days. I found it easy to fit in, alot of my freinds moved along with me so it made it alot more easy. I have been to 4 different schools in my lifetime, first day is hard but if you get some mates then its alot better.

Ok I live in Ireland and I want to know what middle school means. High school is called secondary school here. I'm in my second year in the school and it's a doze. Don't worry about making friends if your sound to people then you'll get friends no prob. As for your gf thats athing your both going to have to talk about.

Middle school in the U.S.A is inbetween Elementary school-about ages 6 to 11 and High school is about ages 13 to 18. Middle school is just the inbetween time from Elementary and High School.
Elementary is grades 1st through 5th
Middle is grades 6th through 8th
High School is grades 9th through 12th

But some areas or states don't even have Middle school, they just have Elementary 1st through 8th and Highschool 9th to 12th. But it can be different anywere.

I am also starting high school next year, hopefully in a place where I don't know anyone and have a clean slate. I'm infamous in middle school right now, and that is definitely not a good thing. All I am really worried about in high school is the homework situation; I've heard you get LOADS of homework.

Man high school sounds hard over here you barely get any homework and the bit you do get you don't have to do it most days.

Ha Ha school in Ireland is easy. But the one thing that is bad is that you have to learn Irish which is very hard.

Believe it or not, even if you don't want change, you are still going to change. It's the cycle of life, live with it.

You have to accept the changes, otherwise you will not grow independent and have the necessary a sense of responsibilities for that's to come when you grow older. No one likes changes, at least, most don't, but it's inevitable.
