Why I hate the post office

I worked delivering post for a summer. Tough work, tougher than I did expect, but not bad in other manners. I just hated the feeling of socializing with the other workers (although they were reasonably nice people), that I didn't go there anymore.

And it WAS dull. Same thing over and over and over again. I quess almost everything is like that after all... Me and my lazy bumminess. Thankfully I've been saving up so I didn't really have to work this summer.

They cut so many hours back that it gets stupid. Plus during certain times of the year, theres a huge amount of shipping going on but only like two people handling the actual post office making queues nigh unbearable. D: D:

Australia Post annoys me as well...it'd be so much more convenient if the post office was open for just one hour more each day, closing at 6pm instead of 5pm (or better yet, if there was a 24/7 pick-up zone for parcels). Edit: Also, the delivery people tend to be quite inconsistent - if I'm not at home, sometimes they'll leave a note telling me to pick my package up from the local PO. Occasionally though, they'll just leave the parcel on the doorstep. Now, while this may be more convenient to me, it's also risky because the parcels are vulnerable to theft - I came home once to find a package (containing $200 worth of merchandise) just lying outside the house, in full view of the road and passers-by. It was very fortunate that my parcel wasn't stolen. :|

Oh man, Australia Post is a ♥♥♥♥ing JOKE.

♥♥♥♥ing bureaucratic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s. Once they delivered a shirt to me, AND left a note saying I had something to pick up from the post office. I went to the post office and they're like, DERP WE DON'T HAVE IT CALL THE HELPLINE.

I ♥♥♥♥ing sit on the helpline for ages before the phone guy tells me that the stupid driver left the note by accident, because it was related to the same item.

And seriously, 9-5 week days and 11-4 Saturdays, closed Sundays? There's no ♥♥♥♥ing convenience to it, it's all during work hours and I can't even get in AFTER WORK. I know this is really showing my Generation Y-ness but ♥♥♥♥ that, we live in 2012 mo ♥♥♥♥ers, get customer friendly ffs.

And like, I dunno about you, WHENEVER I am in a post office, the staff are ALWAYS difficult and ALWAYS have a bad attitude. I don't get it, it's not like that for me at Centrelink (Australian welfare office) or even VicRoads (Australian DMV), but for some god forsaken reason, the staff at the post office all have a foot up their ass and are stuggling with menopause in their earlier 30's.
