It might be, but I say this based on my experience with fire departments, with which I've seen and have had nothing but problems (I'm speaking of the ♥♥♥♥ty volunteer fire depts where houses have burned to the ground across the road from their HQs).
Though I wouldn't think that's the case in Utah, where they need reputable and reliable teams ready to take out wildfires, since this sort of event isn't exactly unheard of in Utah and other western states.
So yeah, it might be a little unnecessary to call them, but it's something I'd do for peace of mind, especially since the only fire depts I've known are uncoordinated and unreliable in sudden emergencies.
