More Libya insanities: It's considered sissy if one wears a seatbelt. I remember returning after years of not having visited, and getting into uncle and friends cars, and automatically reaching for and wearing the seatbelt, and EVERyone laughed. I looked down to see this hUge ... smear LINE OF GRIME across my shirt because the belt hadn't been used in that long .. xD...

Well my car's got an automatic transmission instead of manual. So instead of shifting every so often I just put my car into drive and I'm off. They're a lot easier to drive but they're not nearly as powerful as manual transmission

automatic cars generally have something that looks like


while manual cars have something like


And no haha, I still don't wear a seatbelt when I'm driving. Well, I guess I do wear them when I know police are around, but other than that I still drive without them. Mostly because I think they're super constrictive and uncomfortable.

I think I would fit in perfectly in Libya

unless y'all drive on the left side of the road

I have never seen a manual car in person.

I've never seen an automatic car in person.

I'd be scared to drive a stick shift..hell, I'd be scared to drive an automatic. I still don't have my license :/

I think we're seeing less and less of cars with manual transmisson.

Not feeling too hot lately. I've slept only 5 hours in the past two days; I just can't sleep for whatever reason. And when I do finally sleep, I get up multiple times in the middle of the night. Useless sandman is useless.

I was under the impression that MOST cars are Manual, and only a few are sissycars **dodges Red attack xDD** for people too scared to drive manual :>>>

If person is in bad mood, they will ignore red traffic lights; if they're in good mood, they'll stop traffic to have chat from car window to other drivers ete etc =D

P is park, R is reverse, N is neutral, D is drive, and the other ones are the ones you don't need to know about because you never use them. Or at least, I don't.

I think it has to do with the fact that we now have 5 and 6 speed automatic transmisson, and tiptronic is becoming more common.

Once, I was with my uncle in the car in Libya when we tried to go through this wee narrow allyway but this old guy in this kNACKered old banger was blocking the way causing a huge block with cars beeping from every corner. When someone went "Old uncle, just reverse a little bit and this WHOLE jam will be solved!" he replied "Sonny, In all my 50 years of driving, I've never reversed once, and I aint gonna start now!" ... and he was SERIOus **lAUGhs**
