For the Girls -- Earrings on Guys: Yay or Nay

So what do you think? Can it look good/attractive, or is it too "girly"? I'm expecting answers here!

And also, I want to say I'm not talking about the weird earrings that stretch your ears...those are disgusting...just standard earrings.

Personally the only kind of ear ring that looks good on a guy are the hoops.



The ones that stretch the hole way out are pretty gross.

I am a guy, but I will still post. I think it all depends on the person. If you are a guy who just wears a small little ring, it's alright. But I hate seeing the people who have the huge ear-dildos where there's a huge ♥♥♥♥ing hole in their ear.

agreed. I don't mean those weirdo ones, just standard earrings. I switch between hoops and fake diamonds lol.

I'm indifferent. As long as their earrings aren't as gaudy as mine, I'm fine.

Never really been a fan of those gauged piercings, 'cause I had a friend in High School who had those, and he would take out his plug, stick his finger in his piercing, then come to me and go "SMELL MY FINGER!".

It really depends on the build of the guy, and general overall personality, honestly.

If you take whimpy kid Joe who looks like he never leaves the basement, he is more likely to look ridiculous with it than super swag Tom. At the same time though, some guys try waaaay too incredibly hard and don't know how much is too much.


My brother has gauges (those things you all keep referring to as "holes") large enough to fit a sharpie through. They look good on him, because he has that "tough" outward appearance and a personality to pull it off. And, I've seen them on him for so many years now that I almost think he would look kind of wrong without them there.

However if you tried to slap that on my friend Alex who is as harmless as a little kitten, he would just look crazy.

Enough to the point that we told him he had to take those markers with him to his apartment, and get us new ones

it depends, if the guy has a nice face, then studs will look good on him, other than that, not really. No loop earings looks good on a guy, doesnt matter if he has a cute face or not.

Errr, It's usually nay for me. Some guys do look pretty hot with ear gauges, though

This is my opinion as well.

Gauges? No. A hoop through the ear? Sure. Doubleplussgood if he has hair long enough to go behind it or in front of it (think Link or Aragorn).

Why? Not sure. But then again, some of the weirdest things are appealing to me, like straight, "manly" guys doing girly things.

Depends on the guy for sure, but generally I'd say no. Haven't met too many guys where it really jived with who they were well enough.

I'm really not a fan of piercings on dudes, but some guys can pull it off. There are some prime examples on this forum of men who can and cannot do piercings.

If my husband ever got his ear(s) pierced I'd make him wear my pretty dangling earrings or feather earrings.

Oh god no. I'm not a fan of any piercing anyway, on either sex.

And those horrible things that stretch out a massive hole make me feel sick too.

Of course guys can look great with earrings! Cultural expectations tell us that guys aren't "supposed" to pierce their ears. Talk about a double-standard.

I'm not saying that people aren't entitled to their preferences, but I wonder if they become biased due to social conditioning.

I wouldn't know to how put it anywhere else, but in england me (and all my mates) think they are super chavvy on a guy, especially the fake diamond ones.
