So I noticed recently that I have barely been using facebook. I went to go make a comment about a game today and when I checked my last status it was from weeks ago. Now I've never really liked facebook very much, but I kept one to keep in contact with my friends and classmates. But Now that summer has hit and most of my friends have been, like, off at other colleges and stuff, facebook has become dang-near irrelevant to me.
tl;dr - I'm wondering how other peoples experiences with facebook have been. Do you still use it or what? Because I think I've officially grown out of needing it to communicate with people.
I was addicted to facebook for a month or two when I first started using it. Now it's booooooring. Going there means eerily relevant advertisements, prompts encouraging you to use all kinds of invasive and/or completely pointless applications, everything that everyone you barely know is thinking/doing at whatever period of the day they, for one reason or another, felt compelled to share with everyone they know and several people they don't, and lots of silly catfighting because people have nothing better to do with boredom and their internet access, plus, their privacy policy is a little frightening.
I mostly use facebook to talk to a friend of mine who moved to Florida for the Ringling School of Art. We always try to do colabs but seeing as how she lives thousands of miles away, they never really amount to much.
I use it to keep in touch with friends and family that live far away and stuff. My party people in the city, some of the boardies from a forum i used to go to, some folks who live here in town, and some ZU folks.
I dont do a whole lot of updating myself. I just like to read what others are up to.

It's usefulness didn't really become apparent until I graduated. Now I keep in touch with my friends and get to see how they're doing. I've hung out or found out about things because they were on facebook.
In addition I have just about every band that I listen to liked, so I receive updates from them via my news feed. It's much easier than going to their individual sites.
I'm also a player of pass a joint. I'm about to hit 4000 points and I'm currently on New York Diesel. Super dank, man.
3/4s of the people on here have said they don't use Facebook. Why? You guys are on here and then say that Facebook is a waste of time? lol. Yeah, i use it. Problem? It helps me keep in contact with the people from high school that I hated so that I can judge their life.
Whenever I log in, I have a few updates to check. So, I try to log in frequently. I also use it to troll my IRL friends and leave borderline racist comments on people's statuses.
I like Facebook. I use it to see what my friends from high school and other colleges are up to.
I don't really see why everybody hates it. I think it's nice that we have a way to keep up with old friends that isn't always as confrontational as calling or meeting up with them (which, of course, isn't always possible. lol).
I don't typically put out updates because I realized that they were usually just about the weather and I could see how that would get annoying. Before that it was usually depressing stuff, but then I grew up.
