Kava Kava

Anyone here ever tried kava?

Its a drink you make from the root of a plant they grow in hawaii and other pacific islands. tastes like crap but its kinda like taking xanax plus some other relaxing and euphoria effects. great for relaxing after a long day. makes your body aches just melt away like butter.

Oh, and I have not tried it.

From what I've heard recovering heroin addicts often use it because the effects are similar to opiates, but it's not addictive. And it's legal. So... I guess I should hurry up and try it before they criminalize it, haha. :P

lol yeah.. but its a hawaiian staple, and our president is hawaiin born so hopefully he wont let such a law pass anytime soon.

Im drinking it right now really takes the edge off.

it also depend on which strain you get from which island and so forth, but i would say the one i am drinking does not feel like heroin

I much prefer hookah. It does the same effects and tastes delicious.

hookah does taste delicious but i couldn't say that it does the same effects.. unless you are putting more that tobacco in it

I bet here in the UK they're trying to ban it as I type. Our government bans everything o_e

Whenever someone says they use a hookah I think of the caterpiller from Alice in Wonderland. They look pretty cool though.

I LOVE kava, or 'ava in my language (Samoan). It's used for some medicine back home in the islands, but in Samoa it's often used in important ceremonies, the beverage, like the passing on of matai (chief/leader of a village) title. Lotsa important roles like ʻAumaga, Palu'ava, Tautu'ava and a few others that revolve around the 'Ava ceremonies, but ya, it's an important part of my culture, so <3 love.

I'm know that Hookah is like smoking 3 cigarettes at once(well if your taking my uncles usage into account). My uncle smokes it in a public smoke free apartment which is... illegal...

yay a kava fan. So do they ever drink it recreationally? instead of just ceremonial?

maybe its not illegal because hookah is not smoke, its actually water vapor

Actually sometimes its tobacco. Google it.

Never tried kava or any other recreational drug, really. I wouldn't mind trying once though, if I knew where to get some. :q
