Computer use while at school/work...

what are your thoughts on this???

Well...I'm not in school today, I'm at home.

BUT...When I'm at school, I have Computer Applications for my first period. I get all my work done, but I do get on the internet every chance I can.

Ugh, computer is a major distraction to me. If I have the choice, I would choose NOT to use any computer when I'm trying to do some homework or studying. But, here in university, they don't care if you use the computers to play or not. Heck, they practically not care for anything other than marking and stuff. The professors here are so loose on discipline, that some students even brought poker cards to classes and started playing them as the teachers continued their lectures.

I never use them in the University. I never have the time because I always have something to read. But after 11am, I use my comp at the house.

Nah. More like a strong will and determination to get your acts together and finish the homework. Well, other than the readings which I still have to do, I'm pretty much done for homework and stuff. I gotta start on those Criminology chapters soon, because I have a project coming up shortly.

well when i am at school i only have computer sessions once a week, and its strictly monitored by the schools server to se what we are doing, so we have no choice but to get on with whatever we are supposed to be doing.

The job's that I would be having in the near future (not like huge major career, just some small jobs) don't require the Internet, and my ideal career involves computers, since I want to be a video game designer. As for school, I don't think my school is hooked up to the Internet. Besides, not many classes involve computers anyways....

The school I go to are able to block certain sites, Somehow this one fits the blocking bill so I can't come here during school. So I wait till I'm home and can use the Internet. No job yet so nothing on that part.

Same too, my school blocks certain sites, but I haven't checked with this site yet. Though I have seen people get onto candystand.com, but they get in trouble for not doing school work.

At my school, the computers are horrible, it takes at least 8 minutes to load the homepage. We only really use them if we have a project or something.

Yesterday in computer class my teacher made me go to a New Jersey website since we're working on some New Jrsey project in class. God did i wanna go here and on my website.

I use a laptop at school, but im the only one. Its just to be able to keep up with my work while im away and because my handwriting is horrendous... Its hassle sometimes but its cool most of the time. I beleive that in the future it should be introduced in every class rooms

Computer use is essential at my college (there should be no such thing as "computer-eliterate" at my school). Our syllibi are on the comps, so are some of our homework, class discussions, email (of course),notes from the class, papers, etc. You can think it, it's most likely there (except for text books). If there was a computer malfunction throughout the whole school...all I can say is armagedon is coming close at hand and Y2K is it's messenger (lol).

Let's see....I go to a computer based school. We get our own laptops. We get speedy internet connection. We don't get a lot of school work. Hmm. I do wonder if I get online in school.

The answer is yes. I'm online all the time in school. Even while I should be working ^^;
Well, I haven't gotten into trouble yet, and I get my work done.. nothing to worry about. ^_~

I was originally referring to personal use while one is supposedly doing school work or not supposed to be on the computters at all.

I used to get in serious trobule about going on the Internet at school/College. Me and Supertails were banned from the LRC (Learning Resource Centre, the posh word they use for Library)at college for the rest of the year, which made study difficult! ^_^;

I failed at my IT class in school because of the Internet, but now I really don't use the Internet at anywhere other than home.

It all depends of the teacher and the class, really. Some teachers are really strict, and others let you do whatever so long as your work is done. Of course "whatever" must fall under what web content is appropriate for school.

I prefer not to go on at school though. In my computer class this year (graphic design) we do real work for real people, not just assignments, so time tends to be a bit tight. The only reason I've gone online at school this year is for research and to find a few images.

I have plenty of time to go on and have fun at home anyways, so I just go on from there anymore.
