I play clarinet and bass clarinet, for about 3 years now. (this will be my fourth year of band... go me!) Im better at Bass Clarinet, (its a big, quirky instrument for a big, quirky person ) I havent played regular Clarinet in so long... i really should get it out and practice some more. But, meh.
Rather than create an all new post, I think I'll offer a collection of old ones, in the order originally posted.
I play the saxophone (alto and tenor), Clarinet, and Bass Clarinet.
I'm not bad with a Clarinet, and Not good with Bass Clarinet, but what I excel with is the Saxophone.
This topic has been done at least three times since I joined.
Regardless: I play alto and tenor sax, and I play soprano and bass clarinet.
I play the Clarinet and the Saxophone in all of their various sizes.
My main focuses are the Bb soprano Clarinet and the Alto Saxophone, though. I take it very seriously, and it is what I plan to make a career doing, though I have yet to really decide between orchestral on Clarinet or Jazz saxophone..
Pfft, Kazan, you know that reeds are what make the world go 'round.
I am an enormous band geek.
I play in about 10 different ensembles, with 4 different instruments. I have a band practice before and after school almost every day. The most asanine band-related topics even penetrate my dreams (buying reeds.. -_-).
I play Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, and Tenor Saxophone.
I've also played Trumpet, Baritone Saxophone, Oboe and Flute, but none of those were long-lasting.
Ok, so that's not an inclusive list of replies, but I don't feel like searching any deeper.
I'm a pretty accomplished trombone player. I've been playing since the summer going into 4th grade, so that's 7 years. I've made All County Orchestra/Band three years in a row; those being 8th, 9th, and 10th grade. In 9th grade, I was the only 9th-grade-trombonist in the All District Band; and this year, I was first seat trombone in All District Band and Orchestra, and got to play with a brass quintet for a song with the Chorus. I auditioned for All State in May and got a 97. Unfortunately, you need at least a 99 to be considered, and 100 to have a shot. So, I guess I'll be in All County Orchestra again . But, when all is said and done, I'm proud of my abilities as a musician.
Thanks to Malony for the amazing avatar and signature.
I can play all of the instruments in the mallet percussion family (xylophone, bells, vibraphone, chimes, marimba). I've been playing for about 6 years. I also played the marching bells in Marching band for 5 years. I can also play the piano and the sweet potato ocarina (I made up my own music for that).
I play Tuba, Trombone, and Baritone, all very well, I may add. I've been in the district select band for one year, seeing as I've only tried out once. I pretty much only play tuba now, since I'm the only one capable of playing it at the highschool.
