On a serious note, I still don't think it's very cool. When you're that level of athlete you prepare months for a single event. And part of that being prepared is knowing the surroundings you're gonna be competing in.

Actually our winter national sport is hockey, our summer national sport is lacrosse. Bu thanks to the NLL nost people seem to think lacrosse is played in winter now

They need to know exactly how the track feel, ajust how hard they dig in, how far they can glide. Correctomundo. Just because the track is composed of ice, doesn't mean that every ice track is the same . People who play hockey (or ice sports in general) can agree with me.

There are so many things wrong with that statement.

1.) Hockey isn`t even our national sport. For some reason lacrosse is. Canadians are also prolific at garnering medals in curling, and speed skating. Those are the big ones that come to mind.
2.) Americans make up the second largest majority of players in the NHL (well below the percentage of Canadian players, but I digress).
3.) Someone who is relatively ill informed on hockey would perceive the states as being a larger hockey power (strictly based on the number of hockey franchises situated in the states). Canadian franchises in the NHL are outnumbered by roughly a 2:1 ratio.
4.) I think you`re just bitter because Americans always get bent over by Canadians when it comes to hockey.

No, there are actually groups of adults who play it. Example: Olympians.
