I don't care that it's early. I love Christmas and we don't celebrate Thanksgiving.


What are your plans for over the holidays?
I'm spending the holidays with my dad in Heerenveen. (10 points for anyone that knows where that is. )

What kind of christmas tree are you getting?
We have a plastic one.

Do you ski or snowboard, or do any other fun festive activities?
I'm too fat for snowboarding.

What are you asking for christmas?
I was thinking of a Ps3, but my brother is getting one this weekend. I'll just ask a ****load of games.

Travelling over the holidays?
Yep.

Eating immense amounts of chocolate?
Not more then usual.

Isn't there a holiday in between? Something called Thanksgiving?

No, there isn't.

We don't need fifteen people posting in this thread asking rhetorical questions. Also, Americans are the only ones who celebrate this coming Thanksgiving; Canadians already had theirs. Christmas is much more universal.

Considering theres a great number of American members, that seems hardly fair.

On another note, I was in the local Walgreen's the other day and saw the prettiest light up tree topper stars. I hope my mom lets me buy one of those.

Fake trees also come pre-lit. Most of them, anyway.

The thought of Christmas coming soon makes me feel all cuddly wuddly inside. All I want for Christmas is a warm blanket to wrap myself in, spend some time at various parties, and enjoy most of my time with my family. This is the only time of the year when I dedicate some time to video games, and I plan to spend hours playing new games and replaying my all time favorites.

I've never had a fake tree in my life. Nothing beats the beauty of real trees and their magnificent scent.

Not much, but my Father's birthday is Christmas day, and I always have a meal at someone else's house (family of course.)

Green fake one. The last time we had a real tree was like, 10+ years ago.

England is just cold and wet with tons of sludge at Christmas now. I miss when there would be 1ft of snow and you could barely get anywhere.

We have a fake tree mostly to save money. Real trees can cost between 50 to 100 bucks. That money can be used to buy gifts or food or other things. Our tree looks real but isnt. I understand how people prefer the real trees though. That smell is pretty awesome.

Wasn't there some other kind of holiday? Like, right between Halloween and Christmas? I think it has something to do with a large ugly bird or something?


Anyways, this Christmas is going to be the best one I've ever had. My parents are sending me on an all-inclusive trip to Cancun. Combined Christmas and birthday present, mind you. Five days on gleaming white beaches with azure waters and marble hotels. The whole sandy beach thing isn't really my ideal image of Christmas, buit for the love of god, Cancun baby!


I'm going to have to get certified for scuba diving before I go. And save up to rent a waverunner. But like I said, it's all-inclusive. Free drinks (drinking age is Mexico is 19), meals, snacks, room service, entertainment, windsurfing, paddle boats, taxi, ruin exploration, ect. I'm going to need a dozen or so extra SD cards for my camera.

Going up to my grandfather's house for the huge gathering on Christmas Day. The WHOLE family will be there.

See my post earlier. I get a real tree evey year. My grandad was really good friends with a guy who sells trees around here every year. In fact, until my grandad got ill he'd help sell trees as well, so we get a free one each year.

No, I live in Mississippi and am to poor to travel. I throw pine cones instead of snowball. The effect is the same.

Mostly musical stuff. I've already purchased a violin so I'm aiming for a cheaper grade cello. Either that or another guitar.

Really? I've seen very few of those. Ours didn't come prelit either.

And I must have missed some posts in here then if I'm not the only one who gets real trees. And I agree, the scent and beauty of real trees is amazing! :3

Wow, lucky.

When we got last year's real tree, we mistakenly took the wrong one home and when Christmas was right around the corner, the local tree farm called my mom and asked if we're ever gonna go get it, haha. Cause see, at this place, you reserve a tree and go pick it up later.

We usually play "finders keepers" at my local tree farm. Oh the sparks sure fly when more than one family battle for that same, perfect tree.

My immediate response to this thread: What happened to Thanksgiving? After Thanksgiving is when I first start thinking of Christmas things. It irks me that commercials are already advertising Christmas stuff, stores are selling Christmas items, and people are already discussing Christmas when it's still a good month or so away!

But while this thread is about Christmas, I might as well say that I hope the kittehs don't try to climb our tree again. They always do. And one year, it was either the kittehs or my sister with Down Syndrome, but one of them partially opened a present while it was still under the tree, a good few days away from Christmas itself. Oh, and I hope we have a white Christmas! See, I hope we get a huge snowstorm that forces us to start Winter Break a few days early.

1. I have no idea. We might go to Arizona like we have for the past 2 years.
2. Probably a fake, plastic one.

I too like Christmas, and I like it with snow (unlike Tott). We pretty haven't had a white Christmas for two or three years.

I haven't made any gift wishes and I don't know if I am even in a position to do so.

I'd like to try downhill skiing since I haven't tried it before (it was also my last winters goal) but it will probably have to wait for later this winter.
